I am going to focus on the 5.5lb payload. While I could probably choose a gimbal that supports a smaller load, this allows some leeway if I ever get a large camera. If you don't choose a gimbal that can support the weight of your camera and any component you add to it, the gimbal will have a hard time balancing. This is a sleek gimbal, however like any gimbal you need practice and patience, and a bit of brawn to walk around with it.     • A very nice and easy to use mirroless camera gimbal

I received this FeiyuTech SCORP 2 Gimbal Stabilizer for my mirrorless camera system. I was blown away by how light and easy to use this thing is. It fits my mirrorless camera which is a Canon EOS R like a glove and does an amazing job of keeping it steady, even when I'm in a tough situation. Initially, when first getting this there was a learning curve on how to set this up and make sure that your camera is stable. They have an entire tutorial on this in the manual and online on the FeiyuTech website and in their app if you ever forget for some reason. The first time takes a while but after that, it got a lot easier to make sure the camera was level using the manual method but there is a function where you can auto-stabilize as well as long as you are close to the correct stabilization settings for your particular camera. Once you get everything set up and stabilized the gimbal itself has a lot of functions how to use as you can use this to have your camera vertical or horizontal depending on how you want to shoot. Also, you can set the camera to be low to the ground or upright and then there are the modes you can use as well on how your gimbal moves according to your movements. There are also knobs to where you can control the yaw and pitch of the camera to get those perfect shots. This gimbal does a great job and removing the camera shake and when I am using everything is so smooth. One thing I did was purchase the case from FeiyuTech as well as it does not come with the gimbal itself but is well worth the money to get as it gives you that piece of mind that you are protecting a valuable piece of equipment.     • Won't stop vibrating

First, presentation is nice, however, I have another gimbal from Hohem that came with an actual carrying case which is way nicer than a box with a handle. Second, FeiyuTech support is very pleasant to deal with but very slow and ultimately was unable to help me with my problem. I would email them at midnight and they would reply 23 hours later which happened 3 times in a row. They were unable to offer a real solution. Third, the Scorp 2 will not stop vibrating. I have it perfectly balanced as verified by both the app and by support who I sent a video of proof. The tilt motor won't stop vibrating and it would transmit what sounds like an A/C line hum into the camera's audio. Fourth, the replacement Scorp 2 was 50x worse. When I put it on the ground, it feels like sitting in an old car with an unbalanced 4 cylinder engine, idling at too low of an RPM, with 3 broken motor mounts. Besides being completely problematic, the battery does not last all that long and also tends to heat up, probably both related to the vibration. The 2nd Scorp 2 lasted maybe 2 minutes and turned off. The 1st Scorp 2 lasted probably around 15 minutes from a full charge. Real shame, I really wanted to like the Scorp 2. I'll be sticking to my Hohem MT2. Not nearly the same weight class but at least the Hohem MT2 works. Unrelated, but the 2nd Scorp 2 had the GUI on Chinese by default. The first one was English. ... show more

I love the gimbal. easy to balance (once youve learned the process) battery lasts forever. great looks easy to use UI is easy to navigate I dont need the AI tracker, I rarely video people, and if i do I dont need a jumpy tracker. Lose the AI lower the price.

I have been using Feiyu Tech gimbal for a while. This newly designed Scorp 2 is perfect for my Sony ZV-E1 camera. I have been using it with my 24-70 GM lens. The Scorp 2 is very stable, and works great with this setup. The new AI tracking is amazing, I am able to use it to track person, or movements without any additional device. It is very easy to setup, took me only about 5 mins to get everything setup, and balanced. The only thing I kind of missed is carrying case. This only comes with a foam box, that fits the gimbal. But no more carry cases. I hope Feiyu will bring back the carry case again in the future, or have different kit options. ... show more

I had the previous version of this gimbal and loved it - it could handle my old 10 lb DSLR/lens combo. But honestly, a day of shooting with 10 lbs of camera gets tiring - especially when I had it on the end of an extension. I switched to a mirrorless camera and dropped several pounds in lens and camera weight. So I decided to try the Scorp 2. It handles about half the payload from the original, but makes up for that in a lighter build and a lot more features. The autotracking is amazing! It's not an external add-on like others - it's built-in, and it works amazingly well. I also appreciate the built-in tripod thal enables the gimbal to be set upright on a flat surface - one less thing to carry. The large dial works amazingly well for manual use, as do the gestures for more automatic use. It's like having your own private camera operator! ... show more
