This ladder has been a life saver and it is sturdy and looks good in my kitchen as it looks modern not like a ladder from a hardware store. It’s worth the price. I use in my kitchen for getting to high places so it won’t be used that often as I do worry about the gold finish peeling or wear and tear so won’t use daily to ensue it keeps it’s glamour! It may seem a little tricky to open but you get use to it after 2nd or 3rd time using it- just watch your fingers! It folds nicely and flat- does not take up a lot of room. The ladder is very light and easy to hideaway in the closet, which is why I bought it. The only issue is that there is no handle to hold onto when coming down and I missed a step and fell down. As a result, I had to return it.

Overall this is a nice looking ladder in person, aesthetically pleasing and well constructed. There are support folds riveted underneath each step to give them extra support for foot weight. The metal used seems strong enough to support the weight they have rated this for...however, I will say that while this is likely very capable, my mind did not initially trust it 100% as the way the limiting bar support is implemented is somewhat "springy" from what I'm used to with A-frame ladders. This is due to the way the limiting bar is implemented...where the front and back bars should meet, there is a slight offset where the back beam is connected to the vertical fold-out bar for the steps rather than the step itself. There is likely a physics/engineering reason for this in order to get the steps to fold out and back up properly. This should be easier seen too in the attached photos, the back part of the bar is slightly higher than the step. Both the unfolding bar and the limiting bar are also fairly thin. Since the folding bar is also bearing some of the weight for most of the steps, it is likely fine but is just another part that gave me pause. Another minor hesitation to put all of my weight on this ladder came up when I used it on hard floors, the feet from the backend of the ladder do slide out about an inch or two as the whole frame tries to find where its limit is...this is also due to the way the limiting bar is offset and tension is relying on the 3rd step resting on a crossbar...it creates a "springy" effect that can fool the brain into thinking the frame is collapsing. This is really my only complaint about this ladder as it may take time for anyone using it (the 4 step one in particular) to build up confidence it's sturdy and can live up to its rated limits. Just take your time on this one and avoid twisting movements which can twist the A frame structure a bit in an unnerving way. It's fine, just can catch you off guard. Additionally, when you look at the top hinges of the ladder while it is doing this, you'll notice they are plastic capped. There is metal reinforcing this hinge and it is bolted to the frame, but visually it's all hidden which I can imagine can play a trick on our brain's cautious nature. At least that happened to me. But naturally, be cautious around any ladder. Aesthetically this ladder is very nice looking and should be fine with proper careful usage. The applied stickers were a tad askew but removing them was easy enough and it looks very nice without them. It folds up beautifully and stows away easily. Being it is lightweight, very easy to carry around the house. Overall a solid 4/5 for me once I got over my initial hesitations and started putting my full weight on it. It truly is lightweight! I just had shoulder surgery and can not carry much yet, but I can move this around easily. It fits perfectly between my fridge and pantry wall. I do feel pretty secure when using this step ladder however, because there is no grab bar at the top like most step ladders, I feel insecure and unsteady when stepping back down, there's nothing to hold onto unless you use this near a counter or wall, and because of this I don't use the highest step either. So please keep in mind if you have balancing issues the lack of the grab bar may be make or break for you. This is fine for myself, but I would not allow my mother to use this. ... show more
