This item was delivered on a hot summer day and was warped in the delivery box by the heat. I managed to get the lids serviceable with my heat gun, but the lids have a opening size selector that barely clips onto base lid and twisting it more than just back and forth over the over the holes causes it to pop off. The lips on the fastener are to short and just barely hold the selector in place onto the base lid. The thread pattern used on the lid is poorly designed and the lid is difficult to screw into place. Best option is to press the lid down onto the spreader and make the final twist after it is squared onto the spreader. Looks like it will work, but certainly not a long term tool. I think that if a different, more rigid, plastic had been used it would be a much better item.

I've been using these two for the last 3 winters and they have yet to develop any cracks or breaks. I fill them with salt every other week and spread it along the sidewalks. Much better then using a cup or any other dispensing method.

For the price a good value just wish there was a way to seal the lids if I don’t use all the material I put inside them so they don’t fall over and spell what I have out the holes are a little large but it was still a good value for the

The plastic feels cheap, and the lid doesn’t feel secure or well made but these qualities haven’t had an adverse affect on the utility of the product. This works pretty well for Rock Salt. I was able to fit a small bag of salt in the two bottles and the lid stays on even while vigorously shaken. It is a good product for the price. Although, if you need to use them more than seasonally for a few times a month they may not hold up.

The salt does get stuck in the holes sometimes so it leaves salt residue on the canister. Sometimes hard to get enough salt out of the small holes. But it gets the job done, and fits plenty of salt.

They work great for spreading grass seeds and lawn fertilizer. I was doing some patch repair on my lawn and a broadcast spreader would of been overkill. I have also used it to spread salt on the sidewalk during the winters. The “opening/closing” of the holes to spread the product could be a bit more sturdy. But all in all for the price it has done everything I needed it for.

This works just fine and the price was good. The only issue I have is it's hard to get the top off so I pulled off the top piece. It could be put back on so it wasn't a deal breaker.

These spreaders helped with using Preen and for slug deterrents. I suspect they cost next to nothing to manufacture but the price was not horrible. They worked well for our purposes in the garden.
