I purchased this training collar a few years ago. Si was having a really hard time with my pup’s behavior at the time and this absolutely was my saving grace. It’s super easy to use, very easy to set up and understand. The collar is pretty basic it’s just a collar with the device that shocks/beeps and vibrates it can slide off it need be and the remote looks similar, very simple. The remote has 7 buttons, one for shock, one for vibrate one for beep. They are very easy to adjust the levels there is two buttons for increasing and decreasing the levels of the shock or vibrate. The beep only has one level but it’s pretty loud and always catches my dogs attention he comes right to me when I push the beep. The shock and vibrate goes up to level 99 and the shock is pretty strong. I don’t EVER use it at 99 on my dog. The vibrate is very strong at 99 but it doesn’t hurt my dog, I would never maliciously hurt ny dog I checked the strength on myself before using it on my dog. I wouldn’t use anything I couldn’t handle on myself on him. He’s 7 years old now (he was about 2 or 3 when I got this collar) and he’s a Pomeranian/Shih Tzu and he’s 25 lbs. I hardly ever have to use the shock to begin with, my dog responds very well to the vibrate. When I first got the collar I did use the shock on the lowest setting until I found a strength that just barley gets his attention enough to stop his behavior at that given time. This is a very reliable brand collar and I would absolutely get it again when mine finally gives up. For having had the collar and remote for so long I am very impressed with it. It does exactly what it’s supposed to and it’s lasted me several years and I use it regularly. Highly recommended.

I have seen many versions of training collars, and this one has the best of all worlds. I have used it for about two months before writing this review and not have had any problems, at all. It is one of the least expensive training collars, but one of the best in terms of features, range, and battery life. It's range is one of the longest: Austin has a HUGE open-lawn dog park (Zilker), and it works at more than two or three football fields away. If I can see him, the signal will reach him. (He turns to find me when it beeps.) The hand held remote is small but functional and easy to use even for my XL "man hands." The functions on the remote are intuitive and clear. The display is large and clear to read even in bright sunlight. The display also lights up with an "Indiglow" type blue backlight, so you can read it at night. The shock and vibrate features scale from 1-100, giving you a broad range of settings to adjust to your dog depending on how much encouragement s/he needs. It also has shock, vibrate, and audible beep modes. It also comes with silicone nubbies that cover the shock nodes and reduce the severity if desired. The small LED flashlight is the perfect level to look for poop or see where you are going at dusk or nighttime. The battery life is also surprisingly good. The remote holds its charge much longer because it is not using energy to produce a shock. It has a battery level indicator on the display. The only complaint I have is that the collar does not appear to have a battery meter, so you don't know when it needs a charge. As many dog owners have told me before I bought this one, you really only need to use the shock feature a couple of times before the dog learns to honor the collar. The shock is uncomfortable but does not do permanent injury. (Anyone who uses the shock feature repeatedly is doing it wrong). Even when you need to use the shock, it merely serves as a temporary reminder. Although the highest level is akin to a mild taser, the lower levels are more like soft taps. Some huge dogs might need the highest level. My dog is medium-large (50 pounds), and I have not needed to go above 30/100. After the initial two or three shocks, usually the beep works as a reminder to listen to what your command is. My dog is very loyal and does well staying next to me while off-leash. But his weakness is his enthusiasm (and speed) when seeing other dogs, and he kept running to other dogs in the park while off leash no matter what I did (yell, run, use treats, etc.). So I needed something to reinforce commands so he did not startle others or unnecessarily create conflicts. It worked. Two or three small shocks and he now obeys when he hears the beep: almost as if it is a reminder "don't ignore him." He now obeys better even when the collar is not on, which helps us avoid innocent confrontations or conflicts. Overall, it is a well-made product with all the features I can imagine you would need, and it does its job very well. Very happy with it.

I’ve had this for about 1-2 weeks now? Sometimes I think it’s not working but others it works too well. My dog hasn’t responded much to the shock for most of the times I’ve used it. The beep isn’t very loud but I can hear it still not being up close to him. I would definitely say to test the levels on yourself or read the. Manual that’s what made me know I needed to lift the levels high high to make them suit my german shepherd after I did that the shock with no doubt works I reframe from using it because I hate it but I’ve tried everything with this dog and it’s the only thing that can stop him once he’s locked in on something. We took him to the dog park and someone showed up with two dogs and he went for them through the fence. I gave him three beeps while telling him to leave it he didn’t listen I held the vibrate about 3 times he didn’t budge I forgetting that I had upped the voltage thinking it wouldn’t even phase him shocked him holding it for 3 seconds and he squealed which I hated but he stopped and was pretty well behaved the rest of the time barked and jumped at them through the fence a couple of times after but he caught himself a second into it or listened when I beeped him. Very awesome result as I’ve never seen him flip a switch so fast around strangers (going from trying to attack to not caring at all in a matter of minutes) he usually locks in and doesn’t leave them alone until we leave. So I’m very pleased with it but also sad that I’ve had to use it. Definitely works though. And I’m grateful that I have something to help me protect others including my dog from being euthanized while living in an apartment building. I fed the entire manual and made sure I tested the shock and all before using it. Very good tool if you absolutely need it.
