  • Clean desk, smooth movement, rock-solid build
Style: Mic Arm LP
The Elgato Wave Mic Arm LP is exactly what I was looking for to clean up my desk setup. The low-profile design keeps the arm out of the camera frame while still putting the mic right where it needs to be. It looks sleek and professional without taking over the desk. Movement is smooth and quiet, and once positioned, it stays put. The build quality feels premium, with sturdy joints and strong tension that easily support a heavier mic. Installation was quick, and the cable management channels are a nice touch for keeping everything tidy. If you stream, work from home, or just want a clean, minimalist mic setup, this arm is absolutely worth it. Reliable, well designed, and built to last. ... show more

  • Easy to use, looks great.
Style: Mic Arm LP
Bought this mic arm to clean up my desk. Switched from a traditional mic stand to this, and it's so much better! I have the mic arm clamped to the side of my desk. It stretches across the bottom of my second monitor so the mic sits below my camera when not in use. Then, when I need it, I can just pull it toward me, tip the mic up toward my face, and I'm ready to go. It's well made, and heavier than I expected, which is good. Attaching the mic and threading the mic cord through the arm was also easy. The top side of the arm pieces are magnetic, so you just take them off, stick the cord inside, and pop them back on — and the magnets are really strong. Overall the look is very clean. I did add one black zip tie at the top to keep the cord from ticking out. Over time, I have found that even though I tighten the arm to hold the position, it slowly starts to sag and I have to re-adjust and tighten it all again. But that's maybe once or twice a month. ... show more

  • Really good microphone arm
Style: Mic Arm LP
I use this arm for voiceovers/streaming, and it’s been a nice upgrade from my old boom arm. The low-profile style keeps everything below eye level, so my camera shot looks cleaner and my screen isn’t blocked. It supports my mic well, doesn’t drift during use, and the clamp grips my desk securely. Installation took me around 10 minutes. Build quality feels good—not premium-premium, but definitely reliable for everyday use. If you’re trying to improve desk space and keep your setup looking neat, this is a good pick. ... show more

  • Excellent Design, Smooth Motion, and Great Cable Management Excellent Design, Smooth Motion, and Great Cable Management
Style: Mic Arm LP
I’ve tried a few mic arms, and this one is by far my favorite. The low-profile design is perfect for my setup, giving everything a clean, professional look. I have it mounted at the back of my desk, and it just seems to float in place. The built-in cable management keeps things tidy, and the range of motion makes it easy to swing out of the way when not in use. Build quality is excellent—sturdy, smooth, and reliable. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Super premium, but prone to sagging
Style: Mic Arm LP
This is damn near the perfect mic arm: the articulation blows basically all other arms out of the water, solid metal construction, magnetic cable channels hide cables amazingly and hold really well, and the offset mounting point lets me attach this to the back of my desk and push it up against the wall without the clamp creating a gap. Love that all the necessary adapters to install any threading mic plus an Allen key are included. The only con is that no matter how much you tighten the screws, the frontmost arm is prone to sagging. I absolutely cranked it down as hard as it would go, and one decent bump will send it droopimg all the way down. ... show more

  • It's great, no notes It's great, no notes
Style: Mic Arm LP
I'm not a streamer or content creator, but I'm a longtime World of Warcraft player. My guild raids three nights per week, using Discord for comms. For years, I've used headsets which, in my experience, are bulky, hot and uncomfortable for extended use. I picked up the Elgato low profile boom arm for use with a Shure SM57 I had lying around, and it's been fantastic. I previously had a more typical mic boom arm/desk mount in which the articulated arm arches upward, and it was so in-your-face and disruptive of sightlines, that I quickly gave up on it and went back to the headset. Then I learned about low profile boom arms. To be honest, the only reason I picked the Elgato was because it had same-day delivery available through Amazon. But I'm glad I did. It's sturdy (not that an SM57 is a particularly heavy load, but even pushing down on the arm, you can tell it's solidly built with hardly any flex), it's easy to adjust, it doesn't block sightline to the monitor and it's easy to push the mic completely out of the way when not in use. It clamps easily to the desk edge. If there's one negative, it's that it doesn't include a mounting plate for mid-desktop surface installation (if you have or are willing to put a hole in the top of your desk like I am). Fortunately, Elgato does sell such a mounting plate, which I will eventually grab, but... it would have been nice if they'd included it, rather than making it an upsell. Probably a non-issue for most people, but at least they have a solution for those who want it. I've started using it for Zoom meetings for work, as well, and it's nice to have something that doesn't block visibility or your face and still be able to use a much better mic than what you'd find on a headset. I also considered a low profile Shure mount by Gator, which includes the aforementioned mounting plate and a threaded extension adapter and is probably a slightly better deal, but as I mentioned... the Elgato got here faster, so it won. In the end, it works perfectly and I have no regrets. ... show more

  • Excellent low-profile mic arm Excellent low-profile mic arm
Style: Mic Arm LP
I use this mic arm at work for video chat calls and for capturing dialogue for on-screen demo recordings. My primary criterion for this use case were 1) the ability to quickly move it in and out of position to keep my workspace clear when not in use, 2) strong fixtures that hold the microphone in place, eliminating constant readjustment, and 3) high-quality build. This arm meets them beautifully. I leave all of the joints unlocked, which means that I can instantly swing it over to join a video call. However, leaving them unlocked means that if you bump it from below, you may possibly lift one of the arms from its seating. The upper arm and ball head clamps are not the most high-quality I've ever used (the tightening motion gets a bit jerky as the pressure increases), but they hold well. The cable channels are an excellent design feature and make for a very clean look, though if you have a tough XLR cable, certain motions may cause the cable to dislodge the magnetic channels. The table clamp is fantastic — wide, padded surface area and high-quality machine screw. I'm currently using it to hold an Audix VX10, but I'm confident that it would hold a Shure SM7b, though perhaps with not as much strength as say a Rode PSA1-type of arm (due to the size of the ball head). Definitely worth the $100 I spent on it! ... show more

  • High quality materials, easy installation, and sleek cable management High quality materials, easy installation, and sleek cable management
Style: Mic Arm LP
Could not be more pleased with this product. Typically "gaming" products are lackluster in their construction, materials, and performance, but this is a huge exception. Installation: Incredibly easy to install. Takes less than ~2 minutes. All you do is clamp to your desk, and drop the arm into the hole. The arm is easily installable with no instructions required. Materials: Dense, sturdy metal for the boom arm. "Twisty" knobs are plastic but feel high quality with smooth turns. The joints on the arm are very smooth, and easy to adjust while still holding their position. Performance: The range of motion is very large, and you can really cram your mic into small spaces thanks to the foldable arm joints. The microphone holds position well and does not sag or droop. The boom arm is easily swayable/movable to hide the microphone when not in use. The boom arm is also very sleek with its cable management. The only complaint I have is that the cable management magnets could be stronger. I would compare this to other professional boom arms for music production as opposed to other gaming products since this boom arm far exceeds a "gaming" product. I could not be happier with this purchase, and would recommend this to anyone looking for a clamp arm/mount for their microphone. ... show more
