Update: I noticed there is a mode switch at the end of the light for off/motion night/always on. This is not mentioned in the cheesy instruction paper included with the light. 1 star deduction as it caused me to return a light yesterday. My previous 2 lights bought last summer did not have the switch on the end. Original review: This is a low profile, slick looking light. It could be brighter, but works good for my garage application. The motion sensor is about right, turning the light on when I walk up to my tool boxes. I bought this as a replacement for another set of two similar models from someone else. The others were hard to set to the right mode (I wanted always-on). Fully charged, after I found the right mode on the others, both of them turned off after ~2 hours and never came on again, even after charging for a full day. The switch on this one is a welcome feature—easy to know which mode. Not only did this one stay on the few hours I needed it, but I forgot about it and it was still on the next morning. I was expecting the light to turn on only by detection of motion, but it really depends on how light/dark the environment is. If it's dark or lights are turned off, it works well, but if there are other lights turned on, it doesn't. I have it on my counter space and was hoping it was also going to provide light during the day, but that's rarely the case. My current space has multiple closets, none of which have any lights nor any exterior lights that do a good job of shining into the depths of said closets. These lights are great. They are motion activated, which is fantastic. The color of the light is a nice yellowish hue as opposed to an industrial blue light (they do make a blue light version for those who prefer the industrial look). The lights only needs to be recharged every six months or so, and the removable battery makes that process very simple. We do like the quality of the light and color and adjustability but battery life is not what we hoped. We are using this as a temporary option for a failed stove top hood light. It does stay attached under the hood at about the same location as the original light and the magnets work well and motion detection works well but the on/off switch is small and would not be easy to turn on/off like the hood switch. But, this light is not intended for this purpose so I give it credit to work as a back up light. However, the battery like other lights along these lines does not last as long as we would like and we have to recharge about about 3 to 5 days. It does stay on for a little while when cooking but not when the outdoor light comes in the house. So, can be good in other applications but as a back up for stove top lighting, maybe not. ... show more
