I have to say that I bought this to replace 8 or 9” fans that seem to always have a very short lifespan before making noise or losing their lubrication and slowing down. I use this in a basement to dry screen printing screens for my business but think this would be a nice fan for a bedroom or living area that you want to move a lot of air. I only use it on the LOW setting and it is very effective and covers twice the area that my smaller fans would cover. I find the power switch to be a little awkward to find since this sits on a shelf and I have to reach behind it to turn it on. There is a switch box mounted high on the back of the fan that has a small round dial to choose off, low, med, or high. I like the all metal frame and stand. It seems sturdy. One odd thing is it has a removable knob used to secure the fan position in the frame it sits in. There are bolts on each side to tighten the fan in place but there is only one knob to use to tighten them so it is loose and removable so you can use it on both sides. I’ve had the knob fall off when moving the fan around, which is not good because if you loose it you will have to use a wrench to tighten the fan in place. The chord is a nice length (I think about 6’) and allows flexibility in fan placement. My only “gripe” is that the round EZ CHILL brand label on the front fell off after the first use and won’t stay stuck on - HA! Actually I couldn’t care less. I’m happy with this purchase and just hope the fan motor doesn’t bog down over time like so many of these small fan motors seem to do. ... show more

The fan does not hold position other than that it is a good little fan. You have to tighten the screws (on side) while it is in the desired position.

This fan is a gift. And I mean when you’re hot. It keeps me from having to kick on the air conditioner before I want to and I can use it on my patio. It is super sturdy and I love the industrial look. For a powerful little fan this thing is about as quiet as you can get.

    • Barely moves air, vibrates off counter, and screws at side loosen in 24 hrs. I just got a lemon?

I'm 58 and never met a worse fan. It's a shame. Really nice look, good size, but no power to it at all. Barely any air movement even on high. And worse yet, 1. It vibrates itself off a normal placement on a normal counter. I have to set it on a cloth. What? 2. The screws on each side don't hold tight, and each day the fan is facing down, looking at its feet, blowing at the counter instead of out as it was set. I retighten the screws and within a day it's dropped down again. This is totally dysfuctional. Like, does not function. Flimsy and weak. 0 value. Did I just get a bad one? Some other reviewers had a very different experience. I think I got a defective one? ... show more
