  • Excellent simple DIY mod that's great for refurbishing old controllers
- All the pieces you need are in the box with spares. - The step-by-step instructions on the website are excellent. This kit is great for refurbishing old controllers. It just works and the buttons and triggers feel much better than the originals that Sony provides. In my case, I'm playing competitive fighting games so I need triggers that feel less like triggers and more like buttons. This kit enables that. One reviewer noted that the sound of left/right triggers and left/right shoulder buttons was different for him. This can be very annoying! But it isn't exactly true: In the box, there are transparent trigger buttons in 2 pairs. Visual inspection doesn't reveal any difference to me but I'm half-blind and yet still I could swear that they sound and feel different. What you want to do is test them and pair them appropriately, that is, put in the transparent buttons and test them for sound and feel before you reassemble your controller. It took just one test to get left and right triggers and shoulder buttons sounding alike. I hit a small snag when attaching a trigger: I fumbled, slipped, and the blue buttons attached to the trigger microswitch flew out. It's a tiny piece that's easy to reinsert if you have tweezers, but even easier to lose. There are no spares in the box for these blue switches. After this happened it took a bit of fiddling to get the trigger to feel and sound right. This is probably a skill issue on my part. If you're new to modding, just be extremely careful so that you don't accidentally loosen parts that are easy to damage or lose. This is a great product. Thank you eXtremeRate! ... show more

  • I play claw
Works amazing, if you play Fortnite listen up so when you click into your build it works nice but when you click out of your build you have to actually click the button and not fat finger it, personally I don’t mind having to click it more then smash it but I read a comment when I ordered mine and some guy was complaining about it, I think the product deserves a 8/10 cause sometime it acts a little buggy like it doesn’t shoot but chances are it’s how I installed it, I also just bout the dawn 2.0 and I’m gonna to install that today on top of this add so now I’ll have a full on scuff basically, I’m sure it’s going to be hard to do all of this especially since they’re no YouTube videos on it but I’m going for it, wish me luck extremerate cause you guys really have to make a video on paddles with the clicky buttons cause I’m not the only one trying to figure this out ... show more

  • Highly recommend
I have been running extreme rate in my controllers for year. I have had parts replaced under warranty and i have completely worn out parts from extensive game play. I have built multiple controllers an al of them have lasted several years. I stand by extreme rate and their product. the installation is rather easy even for someone who doesn't know how to do it. The instructions you receive are clear and there are also pictures to help with the process. I have and will continue to purchase this product and will continue to use this product! ... show more

  • Trigger problems
The idea of this is great, but.... there's a serious issue with the L2/R2 buttons. I ordered this 2 times. The first time as I was snapping the L2 button back into place it broke the tactile switch, the second time I was able to get both triggers into place, but the R2 button gets stuck every other press. The whole thing has been a pain. If they offered the tactile switches for the face buttons only that would solve everything, but they don't. ... show more

  • Could use improvements, especially for the button inserts.
I installed this on my DualShock 4 as a competitive fighting game player. The microswitches feel really satisfying to click, and I'm satisfied with the product overall. However, I did run into two snags: 1. It's not compatible with the BattleBeaver D-Buttons. eXtremeRate sells their own split D-Pad, and there's little reason to expect them to be compatible with a competitor's product, but I do greatly prefer the feel of the BattleBeaver D-Buttons. They don't stick out of the face of the controller as high as eXtremeRate's split D-Pad. You can do a pretty ghetto hack to make the BattleBeaver D-Buttons compatible: stack three tiny pieces of duct tape on the bottom of each one. 2. This one I do think is reasonable to expect improvement on: the inserts that go into each of the face buttons to help them sit on top of the switches are not very durable. I had two of them get punched through on my X button alone, and my other three face buttons' inserts are likely gonna get punched through soon. Please include more inserts, more durable inserts, or both. Otherwise, it is a good product that is very well worth the money and the time to install it. ... show more

  • Better than BattleBeaver
Battle Beaver PS4 controller stopped working and needed a solution to fix it. This was the perfect fit and better designed kit. The R1/R2 and L1/L2 and built into the main flex cable vs on the battlebeaver that had several wires soldered in. I unsoldered all the wires from the battle beave and this was plug and play. Thank you extremerate ... show more

  • TRIGGERED BY THE TIGGER
I should have know from the start something was wrong when the box was taped shut. Okay thats fine everything inside looked new so i'll just deal with it. We've all been there opened something then watched the video on how to do it and been like yeah im good on this. Install was super easy. But heres the problem the l2 feels mushy comapred to the rest of the buttons. also theres no auditory click like there is with all the others. the microswitch feels fine when theres no trigger but it sucks with it. would give 2.5 but will get a 3. if everything felt the same it'd be a 5/5 ... show more
