  • Gorgeous shell just being patience and your own tools
Color: Clear Atomic Purple
The shells looks fantastic and functionally are great. I can’t speak to the buttons I used the original buttons. Joy con reselling is not easy it’s time consuming and has a lot of potential to break a clip or ribbon. Take your time and I recommend using ifixit screw drivers to not strip any screws. Love my atomic purple joycons ... show more

  • Good Quality, love look
Color: Clear Atomic Purple
Really good Quality, for those wondering becareful when taking apart your older controllers I accidentally torn off one of the buttons which in turn torn it from the board completely. Have the replace the board which cost 35 bucks but the came with everything needed.

  • Very cool product.
Color: Clear Blue
I really like this thing. Very cool look. I also combined it with new LEDs so that it all matches. Started with the standard white ones and then changed them to blue. Pretty easy after watching a video on how. Took about 40 minutes per Joy Con, but I think time well spent. Of course, since I made the LEDs match, I had to reprogram them to be recognized properly by my Switch. Also very easy. Joy Con Toolkit. After this pair, I felt the need to change all my Joy Cons. So now all three pair are changed. Red, blue, and green. ... show more

  • It is really difficult to do yourself
Color: Clear Glacier Blue
It's difficult, but really worth it in my opinion. I bought this and some replacement sticks that were "hall effect" and coverted my joycons all at once. The videos I found were for fixing a controller not for replacing shells specifically. I ended up not switching the middle plate, just the back and front plates. So there is an accent of color from the original joycon blue and red, that i think looks really nice. The plastic finish feels a little better than the original. I love the nostalgia factor as a 90s baby to have clear plastic on my "gameboy" again. The only thing I wish they had was like an official video of their own, and some color fill for the letters to make them pop. I can do that myself at some point with white hobby paint. ... show more

  • Good Quarantine Project
Color: Clear
I recommend this kit IF you think you're comfortable attempting it! I enjoyed it and it killed about 3-4 hours. Good quarantine project. The process of moving the electronics from one housing to another was actually easier than I thought it would be. The speed process video eXtreme Rate provides is a good jumping off point if you're familiar with working with small, electronic parts. However, if you're not (I wasn't entirely) the video by JerryRigEverything is SUPER helpful! The only difficult part I had with this project was removing the original tri-point screws, which 6 out of 8 stripped immediately. Though I attest this to the cheap quality of the oroginal screws and not the tools, as none of the other screws or even the replacement outside ones stripped for me. It was very painstaking and tesious to get the stripped screws out. I had to very slowly build up a surface on the screwhead with E6000 before I could get enough grip with the screwdriver to twist them out. Even then, it took a great amount of effort and time. 2 of the 4 hours I spent on this were just to get the joycons open. My hands hurt (also, I do NOT recommend using E6000 for this purpose unless you have a gross amount of experience with it). Other than that, this project was fun and straightforward. Highly recommend using the provided plastic casing to keep your screws organized as you work. I bought the clear shells and they look great on my switch! I didn't bother changing out the middle plate because I didn't want to mess with the triggers, but it still looks fine to me. I also kept the defualt, black buttons instead of using the clear ones provided. Perhaps I'll put those on my second pair of joycons just for funsies. Also, I saw a few people in the reviews saying that moving their housing fixed their joycon drift. My left joycon had drift and I wanted to see if that would happen for me. It's only been a day, but I've played Animal Crossing for several hours and haven't had any drift so far. I'm not saying it for sure will fix your drift, but it seems to have for mine. I'm giving this kit 4 stars instead of 5 because the SL and SR replacement pieces had sharp edges that needed to be trimmed and sanded before they fit right in the shells, they didn't include any tweezers in their toolkit, and because, again, my hands hurt. I appreciate that the screwdriver was weakly magnetic, though; that helped a bunch with those tiny screws! ... show more
