I purchased this particular set because it had the icons on the corner of the mat for what each color is used for. The size of the mats is large. The waffle design on the bottom have no grip so safety I recommend placing a towel underneath when using. These plastic mats are very sturdy, easy to clean and totally necessary in a busy kitchen. When prepping foods for a meal at home these are very handy to keep cross contamination when prepping more than one product. Why clean the cutting board when these are much easier to clean.

These cutting mats are far more scratch-resistant than several other brands. The solid colors are great to see your food prepping better than looking at a background of painted designs and measuring marks you never use! They are very reasonably priced as well. I ordered these as a replacement for my IKEA cutting boards. I wouldn’t say they are extra thick at all. They’re pretty thin and bend easily. After running through the dishwasher, they don’t lay flat anymore so the food falls off the sides when I’m cutting.
