I've been using these chopping mats for years. They're inexpensive enough that I just replace them when they get too used. I like the fact that they are easy to use: I use different colors for different items so there's no cross contamination. When cutting up items, I can bend the plastic mat, making it easy to transfer the cuttings to the pan, and they're easy to clean and/or disinfect. They're lightweight but sturdy. I used to use a wooden chopping block but it was heavy, expensive, and a pain to use and clean. In all ways these cutting mats are better!

Used daily for 2 years. I no longer have the green one after the first week of ownership when my foolish husband set a very hot pot on it assuming it was heat resistant. Needless to say it was ruined. ☹️ The others look a bit worse for wear but still perform as well as ever. One caveat is that ours have curled or cupped and no longer lay perfectly flat unless something is placed on top of them. Also, they slide very easy on our solid surfacing countertops unless I place them on a flat damp cloth. They slide almost as well on top of our silicone cutting boards but for the rubberized handles on the cutting board preventing it. The waffle weave 'non-slip' bottoms do have a tendency to retain moisture so require thorough drying. Any moisture on the surface they are placed will also cause them to slide that much more easily. It takes very little moisture to cause this. All that bring said, some of ours are looking pretty disreputable by now and it's time to replace them with another set of the same kind. 😊

They are color coded for Chicken, Beef, Fish and Fruit/Vegetables. The cutting surface is smooth and the back side of the mat has an anti-slip bottom. They are super easy to clean either by Hand Washing or Dishwasher. The flexibility allows easy transfer of your freshly cut item to be transferred to a pot, pan, cookie sheet or bowl. A definite must for any kitchen!

These are not extra thick, but thicker than most. I bought thicker ones at IKEA, but they are also softer and full of knife scratches. What is great about these is how hard the material is, and it holds its shape, where the thinner ones, as well as the IKEA ones, warp. The no skid bottom doesn't work, they slide around. I would recommend making it flat surface on both sides and they will be able to be used on both sides. Also the waffle bottom holds water after it is washed and rinsed and requires a towel to dry it, so that is annoying. But all in all I really like these and will be getting more. That they have stayed square and not warped is really nice, as often I need to tape two of them together for a big project, like just now, chopping cilantro. 2 bunches of cilantro. Or when I'm cutting up cabbage for Sauerkraut. One mat is not enough to keep food off the countertop with big projects. They are also nice to use when rolling out dough for tortillas, and get taped to the countertop for that as well. Since they do slide. So far they are still fresh and resistant to the knife more than the thinner and thicker ones that I have. I like that too! I would have to say that these are the BEST cutting mats I have ever used!
