These work great! I just wish they lasted longer but that will vary based on your water issue. My well water has really heavy iron. The longest I can go before changing these is about 6-7 months. It would be great if I could do an annual change, but otherwise I would recommend these. Maybe I can add an additional filter to give me more longevity. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have a deep well and it has a lot of iron and sediment in the water. Its bad enough that with out filters it will stain laundry orange and the bathtub would be orange colored to the point that you couldn't see the bottom of the tub. When we would shower the water would smell slightly metalic. I installed this set of filters and it made a world of difference. The water is clear and doesn't smell like metal. They don't affect the pressure until they start to need to be changed. Obviously it depends on how much your water needs to be filtered down but we can get around 3-4 months out of a set. This was the first replacement of the filter set since the unit was initially installed six months ago. Overall, the process is fairly straight-forward - just follow the instructions. The process will be much faster, with no disruption to water flow if you added a bypass when installing the filter system. Pros: Filter canisters are easy to remove, and the filters themselves are easy to replace. Cons: Not a lot of clearance when removing the filter housing. If the frame were another 1-2 inches taller, it would be much easier. Things to be aware of: The filter housings will be full of water. Water weighs 8 lbs per gallon. If you're not prepared for it, the canister will impact whatever is below it, and make you wonder if if cracked. I would recommend putting something like a boot tray under the canisters for two reasons: 1) It will contain any water that spills, and 2) it will absorb some of the impact if/when the canister slips out of your hands. ... show more
