I bought these to change out 2700K 65W 720 lumens led floods. Thought they would fit the bill since they are a little bit more than double the lumens then the 65W's but unfortunately they are not. Don't get me wrong, they are brighter but more of a 1000 lumens or 100W. I think it is because they are 2700K so the lumens are actually less to get that yellow incandescent effect. The quality was definitely high end. I'm going to use them anyways in the hall I added them too, better than what was in there, and next year I'll upgrade to the 300W 2900 lumens to get the effect I'm looking for. My advice.... the lower the Kelvin the higher the lumens you need. The higher the Kelvin, 4000K and above, you can get what they say they are. ... show more

If you need it bright, then these lights will work for you. They are super bright. I installed four of the eight lights in my parents’ kitchen and what a difference. The kitchen has 20 ft ceiling so heat is not an issue. I don’t know heat with an eight or ten ft ceiling would be an issue.

Bulb is great, but This is my fault- note the diameter of the cylinder of your fixture before buying. They didn’t fit my uplighting sconce.

The LEDs are advertised as 1350 Lumens but they are noticeably not as bright as the 885 Lumens LEDs I was planning to replace, so I'm returning them. If brightness doesn't matter for your application, they are good quality all-glass and reasonably priced.

My apartment came with 75W incandescents. It's not a great look - the bulbs are ugly. As they expired, I replaced them with 90W halogens. Much nicer bulbs. They lasted pretty good too - a couple of years of 7 hours a day. Later I found first gen 100W CFLs (23W). These are rated at 1300 lumens and give out a very good light and are a genuine PAR38. The bulbs themselves are a bit ugly - you can see the CFL inside and the base is thin rounded glass. But once they are on you can't see the bulb in any case. They take a minute or so to warm up which is a minor annoyance. Next, I found a CFL made of thick glass - like a halogen - a more attractive bulb, but with pretty much the same characteristics. When these became unavailable - at least at a decent price - I tried out LEDs. These were all plastic units. They were 3000K, which was too white for me, so I used them for my garage motion lights and returned the rest. Later, they did them in 2700K and I got some more. Supposedly 1200 lumens (15W), but more like 1000 IMO and not a true PAR38 either. Perfectly serviceable but not great. These ones are an all glass construction (like halogens) and rated at 1300 lumens (14W). I love the look of these bulbs, the light is great, the color seems right, it appears to be a true PAR38. These will be my go-to bulbs from now on...until they disappear as these things tend to. ... show more

they used PWM to drive the LED emitters. so they flicker at a very high rate. I find it very distracting. In a day when most LED drivers are DC, I would say a pwm driver is the cheap way out. It's too bad I was really hoping that these would be the best. So they don't look too bad unless you move your hands around in front of them, then you see multiple fingers as they pass in front of the light. ... show more
