This is an interesting set of dinnerware. The most obvious detail is of course the black color. Just that alone differentiates this set but beyond this one can tell it's a high quality set as well based on feel and weight. In addition all the plates have a raised border unlike most dinnerware sets. So you can easily eat something liquid in the plates (within reason of course). Price wise it is a good value.

This is a striking, modern dinnerware set that feels a lot more expensive than it is. The first thing you notice is the deep black color—it’s bold, glossy, and makes food really pop on the plate. Paired with gold cutlery or a simple table setting, it looks downright elegant, whether you’re doing everyday meals or dressing the table up for guests. Functionally, the design is very smart. All the plates have a raised rim, which is more useful than you’d think—it keeps sauces, juices, and dressings from running off the edge, so plating is both prettier and more practical. The bowls are a standout: deep, stable, and perfect for soups, chili, cereal, and big portions, even in households with kids. The smaller plates work well for salads, bread, and snacks, and the mugs are a comfortable size with handles that feel secure in the hand. Build quality is impressive. The ceramic feels solid, with a good weight and a smooth finish that doesn’t feel cheap or hollow. The pieces stack nicely and feel stable in the cabinet. Everything is dishwasher and microwave safe, which is a must for daily use. There are a few downsides to note. The set is on the heavy side—these aren’t lightweight plates, so carrying a stack of them isn’t for the faint of wrist. We’ve been using this dinnerware set and I have to say, it’s made me oddly excited for soup season. The bowls are my favorite part of the set. They’re deep enough to hold a generous serving, and they feel incredibly stable, which is a big deal when you’ve got little kids. I can already picture chili with a side of cinnamon rolls. The plates and bowls stack so nicely and stable. The mugs are great too, though I feel it’s best to only stack those two high or they’ll start to wobble a bit. What really surprised me is how much I love the color. That rich black glaze is just gorgeous, it’s deep, glossy, and makes everything you serve look a little more elevated. Lighter foods especially pop against it, so if you’re someone who enjoys snapping food pics (guilty!). Even a simple sandwich or salad looks restaurant level. They also feel solid and well-made, not flimsy or fragile, and they take up less space than our three decades old dishes. Overall, this set feels like it was made for stylish, and family-friendly. It’s not just pretty to look at, it’s functional. I didn’t expect to love it as much as I do, but here we are, already planning our next soup night.

They're beautiful. The black looks gorgeous in the kitchen. I love the combination with gold cutlery. The quality is excellent; it doesn't feel like hollow china. It's heavy and perfectly painted. The size is perfect too. I appreciate that it includes matching small plates. I like to serve salad on the side, and these smaller plates are perfect for both salad and bread. The price is great. Walmart sets are very low quality and much more expensive, and very few sets have eight pieces; they're usually only four, and the quality is poor and the prices are high. THIS SET IS PERFECT! Son muy bellos, el color negro en la cocina se ve hermoso, me gusta la convinacion con cubiertos dorados, la calidad es muy buena no parece una loza de cocina hueca, es pesada y completamente pintada a la perfeccion, el tamano tambien es perfecto, me gusta que traiga platos pequenos en convinacion, me gusta servir ensalada al costado siempre y estos platos mas pequenos sirven tanto para ensalada como para pan. El valor esta bien, en wallmart son de muy baja calidad y de precio mas caro ademas muy pocos set de platos trae 8, siempre sond e 4 y de mala calidad y altos precios. ESTE ESTE PERFECTO!

It's not often that you find an 8 person dish set and certainly not one that is also great quality. This beautiful black ceramic set is exactly that. I love the matte black color. It's dark and rich and a true black. The plates have a rim to help to prevent spills. The cups are a nice size. Oftentimes the cups are small and almost pointless. They are a good weight and feel quite durable. I boiled water in one of the cups in the microwave and although it was hot where the liquid was, the rim and handle were completely cool to the touch. So happy about that! This is a really great set for the size, look, durability and price.
