I have CFS/ME, neurological issues, & have a sensitivity to light and it strains my eyes to be outside in full sun even with regular sunglasses on. Previously I avoided going outside due to my light sensitivity but this year I really wanted to start a vegetable garden, so I looked here on Amazon for super dark sunglasses where the lenses are darker than typical sunglasses, and ones that don't let any light in through the top or on the sides. These were one of the first few listings and with high reviews, but I thought these were pricey... almost $40 for a pair of sunglasses?? So I kept these on the back burner while I tried looking for something cheaper. I came across the CAXMAN brand Category 4 super dark variant sunglasses which seemed to have similar features and it was $26 which was a good chunk cheaper so I ordered those instead. When the CAXMAN brand sunglasses arrived I tried them on and they let light in through the top, and on the sides, NOT what I wanted. Disappointed, I returned those and purchased both variants of the Goiteia sunglasses here. The outdoor leisure variant of the Goitia sunglasses were not as dark as the Super black post surgery variant. I ended up keeping the darker variant as it works really well to dim down the brightness of the sun and keep my eyes and nerves happy (especially when gardening!) Both variants I was happy that when I had them on they did not let light in through the top, and I think because there's no side windows it helps prevent any light from seeping through the sides. Conformed to my face shape really well. The glasses are high quality material, they don't feel flimsy and they definitely aren't Temu/Shein quality. They also came with a whole kit, a sturdy triangle tube shape sunglass case, microfiber cleaning cloth, and some other stuff. While these are more than I was planning to spend on sunglasses initially these are really good quality, work exactly how I need them to, and seem like they will last a long time. Truly polarized, Cat 4, exceptional quality. Frames protect eyes from light on all sides, preventing light from getting through the top, sides, and bottom. I am very impressed with these sunglasses. I was diagnosed with glaucoma after I had glaucoma for a number of years so my vision is really impaired. They are much darker than regular sunglasses which makes it easier to see outside. They fit perfectly over your regular glasses. They are very sturdy and are worth the cost. My niece ordered these for me after I had just returned from a two and a half week Hospital stay due to severe corneal ulcers. I could not tolerate any light at the beginning. She found these sunglasses and they were truly a game changer for me! I could turn a light on in the house and it did not hurt me. I was able to walk outside and it was amazing! Now bright sunlight in the beginning was still not tolerable but as my eyes began to heal as long as I had these glasses on I could even be out in bright sunlight. I got these for after my eye surgery. I really like the coverage they have on the top and side to block out light but the arms need to be more durable. One arm kept popping off and today one of the plastic notches broke off when i tried to put the arm back on. After having my eyes dilated, my other sunglasses would not work very good. I decided to try these, since I will be having my eyes dilated more frequently in the future. I don't normally leave reviews but these sunglasses are my best purchase of 2025 (and I buy a lot of stuff). Post-laser eye surgery, these were the ONLY sunglasses that made my eyes not feel sore at all after an entire day of being outdoors in bright lights. Even now that I'm healed from surgery, I ended up wearing them as my everyday pair because that's how much I like them. They are: 1. SO stylish. And expensive-looking in real life. 2. Super light and comfortable. Again, I went through literal weeks of wearing them nonstop (including while sleeping at night, #post-laser-eye-surgery-life). I found that after wearing these, I cannot wear other sunglasses anymore because I'd notice how heavy they are in comparison 3. Extremely flattering for rounder faces and asian faces. If you have a face that is difficult to find attractive sunglasses for, give these a try. In conclusion, these sunglasses have completely ruined all other sunglasses for me.
