Reason I bought: I’m a trailer towing veteran who is tired of looking like a rookie when backing up a single place waverunner trailer. I needed a higher camera angle. Solution: Attach this on cab roof for a better viewing angle when backing. Conceal out of view inside the truck when done. Magnet is strong, but this will be powered off and kept inside truck when actually towing down the road. Setup/function: Camera is charged with a Usb-C cable (included). My phone is running Android ver. 10.0. I downloaded/installed the “RV Camera” app. as instructed. Instructions as accurate and concise. Camera was powered on. From phone WiFi settings, it found the camera’s wifi signal, so I switched to it. Back to app screen, the camera SSID appeared, I clicked on it, then clicked on a “Confirm” message below it, and was then brought to the live camera view. From the live view screen bottom menu, you can flip orientation of video all around if needed, take camera view screenshots, and turn on/off the guidelines. I keep them off. If they are adjustable, I do not know how. Video I posted is of camera in use. The green trees/grass seen on video look quite red and that is only due to the phone screen recorder app I used. Otherwise, actual colors I saw on my phone screen were fine. No video lag when mounted on truck. I also included a clip of me walking around while holding the camera aimed at my cell phone with the live view active to demonstrate zero lag in the video transmission. Video quality is excellent. I’m very happy with this camera. Using this on a 2019 Ford Ranger, 4 door, with a tonneau cover. Even with cover retracted, tailgate down, and looking over my shoulder, I can barely see the end of my single place waverunner trailer (empty). Skinny trailer means I can’t see it in side mirrors until it is too crooked to easily correct. I transitioned from old-school, looking over shoulder backing to using the trucks factory tailgate mounted back up camera, but that sits so low, I can’t effectively see when the back of the trailer begins to go the wrong way. Add to the mix some very steep and narrow ramps, the trailer drops out of view quickly and there isn’t a lot of turning correction you can make before grazing the dock. I am really impressed & happy with this! Easy to set up and works great! I use it for work on back of vacuum excavator driving around town & residential neighborhoods this really helps navigate tight spots safely. I ended up dedicating an old iPhone for it I had sitting around. This simplified things because my trucks CarPlay WiFi was always competing for connectivity + sometimes I’m using my phone for other things. I just want to say it again. It was very easy to set up. I had no issues and everything connected right away. I especially appreciate that me and technology often don’t get along and I seem to have issues and problems with stuff like this, but it was very easy right out of the box. I charge it up.     • Poor connection, poor customer service
The product would not stay connected when the camera was installed on my utility trailer with my phone inside my car. I contacted the company and they said the car cabin would cause interference and that I needed to stand closer to my backup camera. I found this a bit difficult because if I am standing by the camera, I cannot operate my vehicle. When I brought this to their attention they offered to SELL me another model but refused to provide a refund for the camera I purchased. Amazon, however, extended me the option to return for a full refund even though the window for return had passed, which I greatly appreciated. If you need a backup camera which works with your cell phone, this option is great if you are willing to HOLD the camera next to your cell phone, while standing outside of the vehicle, while backing up your vehicle. I purchased this to enhance my rear vision from a lower angle than my built in Backup camera provided. I have a 31' Class A Motorcoach. I was very impressed with the unit. Setting up was very easy and took less than 5 minutes. The app that comes with it is pretty self explanitory, which is a good thing, becasue as with most Chiniese products, the manual is pretty non existant. I use it with my iPad and iPhone and it has worked perfectly. The camera itself is fully self contained with a rechargable battery. I have used the device for about 4-5 hours at a time with no loss. It has a pretty strong magnet to attach to your rear bumper, so you do need a METAL bumper to set it on. This device gives me a much better lower view of the area as I back the RV. ... show more

I use this camera often to hook up trailers to my pickup. I also use it on my motorcycle hitch carrier to aid in backing up. Additionally the app allows for still images to be taken, in the event of an aggressive driver or tailgater. There does seem to be about a half second delay in the video feed, so use caution when backing. This is a great tool to aid in safe driving and backing, but when in doubt G.O.A.L (Get out and look). The magnet is strong and I have not had any trouble with it falling off of my vehicle, even while driving. The image quality is fair and the price of the camera makes it a great option. The battery life is also good, with my first test being one hour, without any problems or unexpected shutdowns. ... show more

My husband uses this for work. He is a heavy haul driver and he uses it to watch the equipment that is on the trailer to make sure his chains don’t come loose and everything is riding properly. The picture quality is great. Mounting is easy the magnet is very strong. Signal is pretty good it reaches from the back of a 53 ft trailer to the inside of the truck. ... show more

    • Good for backing up, not so much on the road.
We have it on the back of our travel trailer and I use an iPad with the recommended app as the display screen. Total distance from camera to iPad is about 27 feet. The camera works fine as a backup aid, but I wanted it, with the larger iPad screen, to see traffic behind me as I'm hauling the trailer. While driving, the signal randomly drops blanking the screen or freezing the display. When it works the view behind is great, but I'd guess it's only reliable about 50% of the time. Signal distance shouldn't be an issue. Maybe it's the app, I haven't tried to find something else that might work. I'm giving it only three stars because it doesn't meet the "No Delay On Road" and "Stable WiFi Signal" claims. ... show more

I had no trouble seeing this up and using it when doing a variety of parking and leveling tasks with my camping trailer. I've found even more related uses, like verifying my tow lights wiring before going to pick up my trailer. Nice verification step that is difficult if you're solo. This makes it a snap when combined with a tow wiring tester. I am very happy with this purchase. (Also, I see a lot of people having trouble getting the app to work. The app was easy to set up and use for someone familiar with this short of things, but not everyone is. If you're not comfortable with switching your Wi-Fi to use the device with the app and need a hand, ask someone patient that you trust to help walk you through it.
