  • Great features, very impressed
Style: Table Saw with Stand
Relatively new to woodworking and originally bought a Ryobi table saw. The Ryobi saw did not have a standard track width so my (new ) accurate mitre gauge did not fit the sliders and the original mitre gauge was awful. It also only had a 7” blade that I found limiting. The fence needed alignment after each cut, and I was often cutting inaccurately. So I started to look for an upgrade. I had been deluged with ads about this Evolution table saw, so I thought I’d take a closer look and read the reviews and watch You tube videos. I loved the extender bars and rack and pinion fence, and the sliding track were game changers for me. It arrived a few days ago, packing was ok, nothing damaged even though the box looked worse for wear. I also bought the wheeled worksite table to sit the saw upon as I’m space challenged. The instructions are terrible, all pictorial, putting the stand together was a chore, and I had to part disassemble it and redo on 2 occasions. Putting the saw together was easier, but still needed a lot of attention to detail to make it all fit, but at least I got it together at the first attempt. Anyway, alls done now and it sits perfectly on my stand. I’ve only used it a few times since putting it together and still have the original multi material blade in it (waiting for my woodworking blade to arrive). However, even with the multi material blade the cuts were fantastic, the wood glided through, a huge difference from the Ryobi. The extension arm was a major assist. Sawdust collection was superb, the angled down pipe sent virtually all the sawdust into my bucket. Summary…it’s still a budget table saw, though at the top end of the budget range. The features it has are very impressive. It needed no calibration, I checked everything out from the blade angles and the rack and pinion fence, all very accurate. Quiet and a slow start up is great. One nice surprise was the it also came with a replacement throat plate so you can use a dado set of saw blades without having to make your own throat plate. For all of its features where many are found only on higher end saws this is a great purchase and highly recommended. Just be patient when you have to put it together. ... show more

  • Great design, great product. Needs more attention to proper packaging.
Style: Table Saw with Stand
TLDR – This would have been a 5 star review, but several parts were missing or damaged. The seller replaced them promptly with no argument. Unit is well-designed with features unavailable on similarly-priced saws, but some parts seem flimsy. Packaging and manual need improvement. Long version: I was excited to receive the saw, but disappointed by the initial unboxing experience. The multi-use blade was not in the box, the front rack was bent at the left end preventing it from working properly, and the working face of the rip fence was dented. Evolution promptly sent the replacement parts, though I had to wait a bit longer for the blade to arrive. The Pro’s: -Really well-designed, with lots of useful features not found on similarly-priced saws -Easy to adjust blade and rip fence angles for VERY smooth and accurate cuts for a portable saw -Soft start feature -Folds up and transports easily -Multi-material blade looks promising, but time will tell just how durable it is The Con’s: -Not enough padding in the packaging. Not surprising it arrived damaged. -Rip fence not very robust, brackets don’t match fence extrusion. -Assembly and use instructions hard to follow, barely adequate. -In working configuration, the handle portion of the stand is a trip hazard. Recommend application of warning tape. -No provision for on-board storage of the rip fence. -A few other minor head-scratching omissions not worth going into. Overall, the Pro’s definitely outweigh the Con’s, and I am very pleased with my purchase. If not for the missing and damaged parts, this would be a 5-star review. Customer support was exemplary, and I am confident I will enjoy using this saw for years to come. ... show more

  • Worth every penny.
Style: Table Saw with Stand
Cuts amazing. Building the stand was a little complicated. The box came damaged and the blade was missing and the fence was bent but the manufacturer replaced with no problem. I felt bad for the FedEx guy carrying by himself to deliver. The built in sled is awesome.

  • Great saw but throat plate sucks
Style: Table Saw with Stand
So This saw has a lot of awesome features at this price point. If you are like me you are just getting to the point where you need some type of table saw. I figured I'd spend a little extra money and have something nice that will last. This saw covers that and more. The reason I am giving this 2 stars is because the instructions on getting the blade set in the saw are woefully inadequate. There is no clear instruction on how exactly to put the saw in and no mention of which arbor nut is used when. This caused me to unfortunately destroy the plastic part on the throat plate. Oh well they have one replacement. This got destroyed when I tried to run the saw through at 45 degrees. Oh well it looks like it's meant to be a replaceable part and surely they have some for sale on amazon or the evolution website. Big nope. Even if you wanted to make your own throat plate, the way it sits in the saw makes it very difficult to make one for yourself. This lead me to order one off of etsy from some guy in the UK which seems very unreasonable for a part that is meant to be replaceable. ... show more

  • Great saw, awful instructions
Style: Table Saw with Stand
First off, I love this table saw. It’s the best jobsite table saw I’ve ever owned or worked with. It cuts true right out of the box, and I did not need to make any adjustments to make the blade square. The rack and pinion fence is very good. The outfeed support is a little on the weak side, but the fact that it even has an outfeed support is amazing for this price point. It comes with a plastic push stick and storage for the various wrenches and mitre gauge. It even comes with a multi-material blade that has worked well with everything I’ve thrown at it so far. My biggest complaint: the assembly instructions for the rolling cart are AWFUL. The cart itself is good once you finally figure out how to put it together, but there are no descriptive words in the manual to tell you how to assemble it. You just have to look at the pictures and try to figure out if you’re even assembling the correct pieces. The manual shows parts A, B, C, D, etc. connected with screws N, but the actual parts don’t have a sticker to tell you that it’s part A, B, C, or D, and you have to do your best to guess if you’re using screw N or P. You also have to give your best guess if you have the pieces aligned correctly or if they need to rotate 180⁰. There were several points during my assembly that I had to pull stuff apart and reassemble it because I realized I had assembled it with the left handle on the right, and it was turned 90⁰. So, bottom line, this is a great saw with the worst assembly instructions I’ve ever seen. ... show more

  • Contractors steer clear!!
Style: Table Saw with Stand
This saw is meant for weekend diy’rs. I bought because it was lightweight and as a contractor, I want the easiest and lightest. They show it being used on a job site. I had a dewalt for thirty years. It was heavy. Every time I get to a job site, something is broken or come loose. It is made out of light weight material. I went to fold it up today and the stand bent in a u-shape. It’s over priced. If you are a contractor, pass on by. I’m going to go buy a name brand now, which is what should have done in the first place. Hopefully I can save someone else money. This is junk. Their customer service is good for parts. But who wants to have to order parts all the time? ... show more
