  • D-Tuna / body clearance
Color: Black
I bought an EVH Wolfgang Standard which has an EVH/Floyd Rose Tremolo system. I easily installed the D-Tuna and it works in both E and D positions. However there is no clearance between the D-Tuna and body in the E position. It barely touches the finish when the micro tuner is all the way up. This does not allow me to use the micro tuner. If I did the D-Tuna would push down on the body finish. I will need to find a solution to this by blocking the tremolo. There is a product called "Tremol-No". Hopefully I can use it to lift the tremolo off the body and still have it blocked and not floating. Otherwise I would need to take it to a luthier. ... show more

  • Freaking Amazing!
Color: Black
I’m very impressed with this system! It is very well engineered and you can tell a lot of thought went into every detail. As an example, the fine tuning grub screw on the device is angled so that is easily turned using the Allen key without worrying about hitting the trem or the body of the guitar. It is super easy to install and once you get it dialed in it’s amazingly easy to drop tunings to a D or C# and back again. I will say it took a lot of tweaking to get my drop D to be tuned perfectly. I had to make sure I tuned the D a few cents flat, because it would go a few cents sharp once I tightened down the locking nut. You can’t really fine tune the dropped tuning with the fine tuning screw or it scratches the heck out of the device and it is not easy or smooth to switch between tunings. Fine tuning the E is super easy using the Allen key. And since this is on a double locking trem, once you get it dialed in, it’s set. I’ve not had to tune it since installing a little over a week ago. One thing to remember is that if your tremolo is floating, you will need to install a trem stopper or black box or something to stop the trem from bending up. If you don’t, the d-tuna will not work. ... show more

  • Need to watch a couple videos to get it right
Color: Black
Added this to a 1984 Kramer with an original Floyd Rose. The product lacks adequate instructions, but that's why God created YouTube. I found a couple good vids where someone walks through the setup process. If your trem floats, you must jave a trem stop or stabilizer bumped up against your trem block (inside the guitar's cavity) in order for this to work (so your trem system always returns to the same position after whammy-ing. You won't be able to lift, but you can still dive no problem. It took me 2 videos and about 30min to install and tune to perfect D & E. If your guitar has a locking nut and you like to play in both both standard and drop-D tuning, this is a must-have. ... show more

  • It's okay but very finnicky and has a few caveats to being able to use it - There are no alternatives though
Color: Chrome
I've had 3 of these things now and not a single one of them has given the instrument perfect E and D tuning. You have to use the fine tuners after switching from one setting to the other. Adjusting with the fine tuning allen screw doesn't really help very much either. Another complaint I have is if you install this onto a Gotoh Floyd rose and have the saddle fairly far forward for intonation, the D-tuna will still hit against the tension shim that pushes up against the main locking screw that holds the string in so you'll have to wrestle a bit with the D tuna assembly to rotate it around and push it in or out depending on which tuning you're going to. There are 2 other caveats to using this thing also. The first being that if your tremolo doesn't rest against the body of the guitar, you'll need to get a trem stopper or shave a block of wood to prevent the tremolo from pulling back - i.e. it must be in dive only mode. The other caveat is that this will add length to your overall tremolo unit. If you have your tremolo set low in the cavity for low action, there is a chance that if your tremolo doesn't have a long enough route in the body of the guitar, the d-tuna will come into contact with the surface of the guitar. As a result, you'd either need to enlarge the tremolo route (a deal breaker if you don't want to cut into your guitar), raise the tremolo assembly up a bit (a deal breaker if you don't want to raise your action) or you can set the trem stopper or wood block so that the tremolo is slightly pivoted forwards (which technically still raises your action as well as throwing your intonation off) Realistically, the only option for me was to set the tremolo height. Mine was able to be set JUST so that the dtuna was about a hair off the surface of the guitar. I ended up putting a thin foam piece under it to protect the guitar but quickly realized that the foam, despite not being very spongy, was still spongy enough that I could tell the pitch was slightly off on the strings so I just ended up removing the foam. Overall, the unit has it's issues but realistically, there is no other alternative on the market to quickly jump back and fourth from E to D without unlocking the nut so for now, I still use it. ... show more

  • EVH D-Tuna!!
Color: Black
I’ve bought a Wolfgang standard, and this particular guitar does not have a D tuna, so I read that you could install one yourself in five minutes so I gave it a try, it does really take five minutes to install, boutiques at least an hour to tune your guitar because as we all know Floyd rose trems are not easy to set up, after set up it’s incredible how this new gadget changes the whole game, I would definitely recommend yes if you have songs in standard Tuning and need to switch to drop D fast ... show more

  • YUP> IT WORKS>
Color: Black
YOU MUST BLOCK YOUR TREMLO BEFORE YOU INSTALL. I thought it was a little touchy after installing, but now that it has been used and has settled in, it works very well. If you aren't familiar with the workings of a Floyd Rose Trem, you may want to seek some guidance. Read the instructions, watch the videos.... RESEARCH WELL before you buy, this is apparently only for trems that have the string lock down screws sticking out of the back of trem, and needs to have a slight forward tilt to allow sliding in and out. I also shortened tuning screw on that string so as they are all flush together. RIP EDDIE. Thanks again. ... show more

Color: Black
Not for All FR guitars so just do a lil bit reaserch, in my case I couldn't install it that was on me for not looking it up. but I seen it work, on my buddy's guitar and it work flawlessly on his FR guitar.
