  • Drop D Tuning System for Floyd Rose-style Tremolos

Description

The EVH D-Tuna is a unique patented device that enables players to drop the E to D and back, in an instant. D-Tuna has been standard equipment on Eddie Van Halen's personal guitars as well as signature series locking tremolo-equipped guitars since the early 90's. Since then thousands of D-Tuna's have been sold all over the world. D-Tuna is proud to be endorsed by many professional players such as Warren DeMartini (RATT), Michael Wilton (Queensryche) and Dave "The Snake" Sabo (Skid Row) just to name a few. Bottom line...It's simple to use and it works.

  • E to D as long as you have it set up right no issues
Color: Black
As long as it's set up right and you have a deck only Floyd Rose, it works perfect There is a fine set screw so make sure that your low string is set all the way up so your tuna can slide in and out without scraping the threads Took two times but it said perfect and it works every time I use it. It's been many months now. D to E no problem ... show more

  • Kinda finicky
Color: Gold
An awesome thing to have on a floating trem for easy drop tuning, but it's not perfect. Every time you go from one to the other, you'll have to fine tune a little more than likely. That being said, for just jamming it's awesome. I wouldn't say you could switch on the fly during a live performance and sound in tune, but I'm not a performer so I still give it 5 stars for the fact of ease of use, it looks nice and does what its supposed to. ... show more

  • Works great once it’s setup properly.

You will need to tweak the adjustment screw to get it right. Installed on a Jackson JS32Q with a Floyd Rose Special. Your tremelo must be blocked so that it can dive only. Took me a couple hours but now it works great.

  • Freaking Amazing!
Color: Black
I’m very impressed with this system! It is very well engineered and you can tell a lot of thought went into every detail. As an example, the fine tuning grub screw on the device is angled so that is easily turned using the Allen key without worrying about hitting the trem or the body of the guitar. It is super easy to install and once you get it dialed in it’s amazingly easy to drop tunings to a D or C# and back again. I will say it took a lot of tweaking to get my drop D to be tuned perfectly. I had to make sure I tuned the D a few cents flat, because it would go a few cents sharp once I tightened down the locking nut. You can’t really fine tune the dropped tuning with the fine tuning screw or it scratches the heck out of the device and it is not easy or smooth to switch between tunings. Fine tuning the E is super easy using the Allen key. And since this is on a double locking trem, once you get it dialed in, it’s set. I’ve not had to tune it since installing a little over a week ago. One thing to remember is that if your tremolo is floating, you will need to install a trem stopper or black box or something to stop the trem from bending up. If you don’t, the d-tuna will not work. ... show more

  • A very simple and useful upgrade 10/10 recommend!
Color: Black
This took only a few minutes to install. The prep actually took longer. It requires you to block your tremolo, and I had a cool solution I wanted to share. I just wrapped 2 Legos in 1 layer of wrapping tape and super glued them to the trem block. The tape was just to add a barrier, so to break free easily if I decide to remove them. If the Legos aren’t nice and snug, do another layer of tape and make sure they’re nice and tight or your strings will all go very slightly flat when E standard is engaged. She can still dive like normal, just no ascending. I included a picture. ... show more

  • Amazing product
Color: Black
I wish I bought one of these years ago. I installed it on a cheap $200 diy Kramer copy guitar from eBay with a cheap Floyd rose and it stays perfectly in tune when switching. Some people complain the d-tuna makes guitar out of tune but imo that’s because people don’t have a properly set up guitar to start with, don’t adjust the d-tuna when it’s upright they do it with it laying on a table which you never do with a Floyd. If you do it properly it 100% will work don’t blame the product because ur doing it wrong! LONG LIVE EDDIE VAN HALEN ... show more

  • It must be a novice mistake right
Color: Black
I’m sure Eddie and his tech had the touch, but I can’t get it to tune correctly between E and Drop D
