I needed to replace my water filter in my Whirlpool refrigerator and the prices were starting to climb higher and higher at my local Lowes and Home Depot stores but then i came across this on Amazon. This is the same product that is sold in stores and often at the same price but every now and then you can catch it on sale and that is the time to buy and keep for when time is needed. The brand of filter works very well in the fridge as it's what is recommended by the manufacturer and to me the taste of the filtered water is good. I used to use a Brita filter before purchasing this fridge and figured I would continue to use the Brita even though the fridge now had the water dispenser but once I tried the water from the fridge there was no point in using the Brita anymore. ... show more

The only complaint I have about this filter for my refrigerator is COST. And the prices seem to keep creeping up on these type items we buy regularly. It's a great filter and makes our water drinkable which saves a lot of money on bottled water. Fortunately I only have to purchase 2-3 annually.

I bought a new refrigerator in 2020 I used Whirlpool product and then found this on Amazon 2022. ..It seems exactly the same to me as the same one on Whirlpool website. I do not see a taste difference or difference in the actual product and packaging as I compared them.

I have city water in my home and sometimes it just tastes awful. Having this filter and changing it out when needed ensures that our water is chilled and fresh straight from the fridge. It is easy to install. Beware that when removing the old one, water is likely to spill a bit. No big deal unless your fridge is super packed. Otherwise, super smooth! I got this water filter a few times when my refrigerator is it’s do for one. I really appreciate how easy it is to install ( like 2 minutes) and last a long time for as hard water we have here. I wish my kitchen sink had one .. it’s worth the money
