So, first off, I love this thing. However, having gone through some record heat in SoCal, I noticed that it will only cool you down if the ambient air is cool and you have a fan on you. I don’t quite get everyone saying they can just throw it on and feel it right away. I definitely don’t. BUT, even on a hot day/night with a slight cool breeze and a fan pointed on you, you’ll wake up freezing. I mean teeth chattering and nose running. When that happens, I just throw my comforter over this cooling blanket and I’m a comfortable warm again. Get hot again? Just take the comforter off and the blanket begins to cool again. This thing is a life saver in an apartment with no air conditioning. If the ambient air is hot, even if you have a fan blowing on you, it doesn’t really do anything. It is also a nice thickness for when you want something to cover you, but you don’t want to start sweating when you use it. I’d say it’s worth the money. ... show more

We got this for my son and he loves it. He liked it so much he said I should get one, so I tried his I was sold and got my own. It's soft and well made. It great that it has two sides for cool and not as cool. It's big enough for me and I'm 5'11' and 185 and it's now my every night blanket. It's thicker than a blanket but not as thin and a sheet. As the title says, isn't this is a cooling blanket and not a shawl fashion design scene? Well, here's a real review: First off, I'm a hot guy; not in looks but I'm a literal furnace. I'm the kind of guy that stands barefoot in the snow waiting to cool down. If the weather is above 67°F, it's too hot! So, along with a floor AC unit, cooling mattress/sheets, and a fan over the vent for the house AC, I barely get enough sleep to be coherent the next day. Throwing off sheets and back on every few hours every night is a pretty common ordeal for me (and my poor wife.) Cooling: It's very cool to the touch, even in a room where the temp is going up to about 89-91°F. I'm actually surprised it's as cool as it is for just being a piece of fabric. *It's not going to cool your body by up to 10 degrees, though!* That's called hypothermia and dying...but you'll sleep pretty well, if not very well. There's actually been times where the blanket slept too cool! This is in conjunction with an AC unit. Touch: It's practically sleeping with silk; the cotton is softer than the 1200-thread Egyptian cotton we have. Great if you like soft things, not so great if sleeping with wool is more your preference. Weight: I don't think this thing weighs more than 2 pounds. If you need something weighted to help you sleep with this, a quilted throw blanket like your grandma used to make on top would be one of your best bets. Since it's so light and (by design) thin, just be careful not to stretch and catch the blanket. I feel like it can tear pretty easily. Received this blanket in a very timely manner. Washed on cool cycle and first tried Air Dry but it was still wet…so took a chance on the lowest temperature drying cycle. No problem. I should have submitted my review sooner but I am glad I didn’t. At first I couldn’t tell the difference between the warming side and the cooling side. It is very subtle…the warming side has just a touch of fuzzy texture. I only use the cooling side right now because it is summer. By itself, it doesn’t cool me enough without fans when I first lay down. But an hour in and I love it. I am one of many that need the psychological feel of something covering my body. I can wrap myself in this blanket and feel secure without feeling warm. My new best friend. Thinking I may take her with me on a trip I have to take soon. ... show more
