  • OuTstanding wheelchair
Size: 22x18" Seat Style: Desk Arms & Footrests
After serious research, my son found this wheelchair for me for use for my back and knee issues to get to and from hospital and doctor visits. We had been using those wheelchairs provided at the different facilities. This heavy duty chair is so much more comfortable for me and easy to use for my son and it folds up and fits in the back of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I’m glad he did the research and found this chair! We get through rain, snow, and ice. Great product, very dependable, well constructed, easy to use with nice tight construction. ... show more

  • Good chair for paved surfaces
Size: 24x18" Seat Style: Desk Arms & Legrests
This chair is working well for a heavy guy to get to his car. It is light enough to load into my trunk. (But see the helpful tip below.) Chair rolls easily on solid surfaces. I would not try it on gravel or uneven dirt surfaces. Box was damaged in shipping, and a small part was missing. E & J customer service replaced it when I e-mailed them a photo. (See photo #1) Tip: if you have back problems that make bending to lift difficult, consider getting a cord strap. Amazon has several in the cord management-cable strap section. Mine was called 'heavy duty cord carrying strap handle'. At 11 inches long, it was perfect to help me lift the chair with my right hand while grasping the chair handle with my left. All I do is 'curl' with both arms to easily lift the chair into the car trunk. (See photo #2). ... show more

  • Heavy, hard to push, and worthless warranty.
Size: 22x18" Seat Style: Desk Arms & Footrests
I purchased this chair last fall. Due to severe COPD I'm unable to go shopping or walk very far. My brother told me to buy a chair and he'd push it for me. Unfortunately, shortly after the chair arrived, he had a stroke, so the chair sat unused until this summer. On May 28, I had a stroke and ended up needing a chair to get around the rehab facility. I used one of theirs for a while, but the back on it was shot and it gave me sores, so had my wife bring mine down to me. Immediately I noticed how hard this chair was to wheel around. Even the nurses were constantly asking if I had the brakes released because it pushed so hard. I finally called the E & J company. I was told by their service tech that this was a defect with this model chair. The wheels on the front casters are made with too soft a material. I gives a smoother ride, but for a heavy person, it's hard to wheel because of this. When I asked what could be done about it, I was told to go on-line and buy a different set of casters that would fit this chair, as they don't have any. He said they could send me a new set, but they wouldn't be any better. After further discussion, he said he would send me a new set to try. This was in the last week of June. It's now Sept. 11, and I'm still waiting. So much for their warranty. Also, it is sold as a heavy duty chair to support people up too 500 lbs., yet unless you're a light weight person, it doesn't work. I'm 320, and can't use it. Also this chair is extremely heavy, Without the front riggings, mine weighs 63.4 lbs. I was aware of this when I ordered it though. Just didn't realize how heavy 63 lbs. can be to lift into a car after having had a stroke. I've bought another chair and relegated this one to storage for an emergency back up. PS. I'm not in the habit of writing bad reviews, but I just don't want to see anyone else get burned like I did and waste their money. ... show more

The wheelchair met my expectations. I’ve used it for travel in a van and also to help me with my shower. I would recommend this chair to anyone who needs one.
