Built for larger users, this heavy-duty wheelchair supports up to 500 lbs with a wide seat (available in 20–24 inches) and an 18-inch seat depth, providing a custom fit for tall and heavier adults.Despite its sturdy, reinforced frame, the Traveler HD remains lightweight and easy to fold, making it simple to transport and store. Designed for maximum comfort and value, the Traveler HD features padded seating and a variety of armrest, footrest, and legrest configurations for comfort and easy entry and exit. • It’s everything it claims to be but…It’s HEAVY
Style: Detachable Full Arm, Elevating Legrest Size: 24"
It’s everything they say it is. It’s heavy duty and big. I am approaching all the maxes on this chair. I am a big guy with terrible knees. I can still walk some but this makes life much easier. It is very wide, at least 36” . It doesn’t fit through a lot of regular doors so I sometimes have to stand and collapse it in smaller doorways. It’s great for large people who have help. Fortunately, I can put mine in my pickup bed but it weighs about 60lbs and I have some difficulty lifting at times. I am currently looking at lifts and ramps so I can maintain some independence for now. It’s a good chair for a good price. The occupational therapist at the hospital said it’s one of their preferred brands to see patients buying. ... show more

  • Good chair for paved surfaces
Style: Detachable Desk Arm, Elevating Legrest Size: 24"
This chair is working well for a heavy guy to get to his car. It is light enough to load into my trunk. (But see the helpful tip below.) Chair rolls easily on solid surfaces. I would not try it on gravel or uneven dirt surfaces. Box was damaged in shipping, and a small part was missing. E & J customer service replaced it when I e-mailed them a photo. (See photo #1) Tip: if you have back problems that make bending to lift difficult, consider getting a cord strap. Amazon has several in the cord management-cable strap section. Mine was called 'heavy duty cord carrying strap handle'. At 11 inches long, it was perfect to help me lift the chair with my right hand while grasping the chair handle with my left. All I do is 'curl' with both arms to easily lift the chair into the car trunk. (See photo #2). ... show more

  • Fat guy loves this...
Style: Detachable Full Arm, Swingaway Footrest Size: 24"
I'm 375lbs, 6' 2", and I have RA. I use this chair to help me get around. I ordered this in the 24" seat width and I have plenty of comfortable space. The chair is very sturdy and construction is well done. This is a heavy chair but I expected that with a weight capacity of 500 lbs. My sweet wife has no trouble pushing this chair around, with me in it, and she's 5'8" at 135lbs (got permission to list her weight). The removable arms, foot rests and height of the seat are all easy to adjust. Getting through commercial doorways are easy but narrow doorways in your home may be difficult or not possible. I use this to get around outside of our home and love it. The hammered finish is durable and easy to clean. The seat is padded but not breathable, so I have a lambs wool seat pad and back for better comfort. Delivery was very quick and I received it three days after I placed the order. ... show more

  • Buyer Beware!!
Style: Detachable Desk Arm, Swingaway Footrest Size: 24"
The box arrived beat up and we had to cut the box up to remove the chair. After pulling it out and opening it up, it 'seemed' okay. On its maiden voyage it seemed rather rickety and was pulling to the right. Next thing I know there was a loud 'cracking' sound coming from the frame beneath the seat... and another, some few minutes later!! The chair is rated for 500lbs, and I am only 294lbs, so I hardly think it was my weight that damaged the chair. And while it didn't just fall apart at that time, it did NOT FEEL SAFE to be a passenger. I contacted the seller who had NO sympathy whatsoever. They told me that a) I had to pay to ship it back. b) They said they reserved the right to ALSO re-charge me my initial shipping fee (I paid for expedited shipping), and that I'd also have to pay a 15% 'restocking' fee! They said we at least had to have some of the original packing, if not the box. Well, the original packing consisted of a few thin pieces of that insulating plastic sheeting on it. Just a couple pieces.... of course they were thrown away along with the battered useless pieces of the box it arrived in. So, that was a no go. With all the fees and shipping charges it hardly made sense to even return it. I am looking into how much it would cost to ship back to them, but I'm fairly sure it will be astronomical given it's weight and bulk. I feel utterly robbed. ... show more

  • Make sure you get the right one
Style: Detachable Desk Arm, Swingaway Footrest Size: 24"
I was under the impression I was ordering the wheelchair with footrest and leg extender per the pictures. It’s too wide to fit down my hallway. It’s heavy. First time buying a wheelchair so I had no idea. The chair arrived during a storm. Fed EX Driver didn’t ring the bell per my instructions box got soaked so no way to reuse the box. Be mindful that if you want to return this you will need to pay for the return. I am using this as a desk chair so I can WFH. ... show more

  • Frame Good, But Arm Rests…
Style: Detachable Desk Arm, Elevating Legrest Size: 24"
The frame, seat and wheels are solid, sturdy and durable. They work fine and provide a stable seat and ride. But the arm rests are shamefully deficient. First, they are ridiculously short, and run only approx. 8” rather than the full depth of the seat as in every other wheelchair I’ve ever seen. This makes them barely usable. But worse than the poor and chintzy design, is the quality of the materials making up the arm rests. They are an outrage. It’s a bit of foam padding covered by some plastic sheeting which overlays some thin, cheap plastic receptacle which is itself screwed into to the top of the metal frame of the arm. The plastic frame is so thin, rigid and brittle as to be fragile. Both will break within a few weeks, if not days, of use. Not only that, the armrests are poorly designed and shoddily assembled. They work loose almost immediately upon use. You will have screws simply drop out on the floor. Worse, when these armrests break, they leave blades of razor-sharp hard plastic ready to slice your hands or arms. So be prepared to almost immediately wrap the arm rests in duct tape to keep the things from disintegrating entirely and turning into deadly knife blades. As I said the frame is fine, and does its intended job. And if all you care about is serviceability it will do, but it will look - and feel - like a wreck. ... show more

  • OuTstanding wheelchair
Style: Detachable Desk Arm, Swingaway Footrest Size: 22"
After serious research, my son found this wheelchair for me for use for my back and knee issues to get to and from hospital and doctor visits. We had been using those wheelchairs provided at the different facilities. This heavy duty chair is so much more comfortable for me and easy to use for my son and it folds up and fits in the back of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I’m glad he did the research and found this chair! We get through rain, snow, and ice. Great product, very dependable, well constructed, easy to use with nice tight construction. ... show more
