This car seat is a good option and definitely a decent dupe for the Doona. Assembly was fairly easy, and at first, it seemed very promising. However, there are a few major drawbacks. First, the car seat itself is extremely heavy — even without the baby inside or the stroller wheels attached. Once the wheels are added, it becomes almost impossible to carry comfortably for a women. Honestly, it feels like only men could realistically lift and manage it on a regular basis. Second, although it’s advertised as suitable for babies from 3 lbs to 30 lbs, I found that it’s actually too big for a newborn. The baby was squished in it. The seat does not have a good recline for the baby’s comfort, and the only way to adjust it is by tilting the base with extra support underneath, which feels complicated and inconvenient. When we first used it, we also ran into some functionality issues. The buttons didn’t always click properly, and the stroller wheels didn’t come out or close out smoothly, which was frustrating. Overall, while it works as an overall car seat and has potential, the heavy weight and lack of newborn-friendly design make it impractical for everyday use ... show more
