Equipped with cutting-edge Apple HomeKit technology, and crafted to absolute perfection, Eve Energy Strip connects to your Wi-Fi network without a bridge. And never sends your private data to a cloud. Make sure the 2.4 gigahertz band is enabled on your router and that your iPhone is using the band to add the Eve Energy Strip. Later, you may reconnect your iPhone using the 5 gigahertz band. The DHCP function must be activated on the router. Authentication via MAC addresses must be deactivated. All WiFi-based devices with HomeKit support require the Bonjour protocol (Multicast) to work. Make sure that Bonjour and Multicast are enabled on the WiFi router and additional access points. Network tools such as "Storm Control" and others, allow multicast to be restricted and therefore Bonjour. Disable this setting. So-called Powerline/PowerLAN adapters also restrict Bonjour or do not allow it. These access points are not suitable for the use of HomeKit-based WiFi devices.

I've been through multiple cheap, China-made smart outlet plugs and strips. They all have issues one way or another whether it be not connecting to Wi-Fi or Apple HomeKit, unresponsiveness, or flat out random failures. I was hesitant to shell out the $100, but man it is WORTH it. I haven't had a single issue since the day I bought it, months ago. It was quick and a breeze to set up, no issues whatsoever. Highly responsive. The surge protector itself doesn't feel cheap and has a little weight to it. The EVE app for iPhone is also pretty neat, it allows you to monitor your power usage for each device you have plugged in. I don't use it much honestly but I think that's definitely a feature some people might find useful. I do wish it had more outlets or at least some USB ports considering the price (they could have made it fit), but after all the frustration I've dealt with in the smart plug world, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

This product is doing everything I need it too. Voice control to turn on and off and so far it has been stable in my ios home app. Setting up was not as quick as I expected it to be because I had to find out about certain settings on my wifi router. Once I did that, the set up went went fast. My main issue on initial set up was it would find my wifi network but then it wouldn't stay connected, so I couldn't get past updating the firmware. I have the eeros router setup and it turned out there were settings in the beta sections I had to turn off so it would connect. It took me a day to find out and I should mention that when I reached out to Eve and Eero support, both companies did respond in a few hours to give me info that helped. Information on this issue is on their site so check support first if you run into any issues. I've had this product for about 3 months now and so far so good. ... show more

The build quality is solid, and it integrates seamlessly with Apple HomeKit, making it easy to control and automate. One of my favorite uses is for my plant lights when starting seeds for the garden—it allows me to set precise schedules and adjust them remotely if needed. I ordered this item after getting into smart plugs but needing to plug in and control more things than a single outlet could support. The item was an easy 10 second setup and worked correctly right out of the box, no hassle. This was the only smart power strip I could find that is compatible for Apple home, and it integrates seamlessly so I am satisfied with it from that standpoint. I do think it's expensive for what it is. The single smart plugs I've purchased are around $24 but here you are only getting 3 for $100. The 4th slot is taken up by what I imagine is the "energy tracking" function. This is not something I need and I would have preferred a lower price or 4 outlets. Otherwise satisfied. ... show more

    • Perfect Strip for HomeKit Enthusiasts

I’ve recently been on a mission to utilize HomeKit within my daily life and was on the hunt for a power strip that allowed me to be able to control individual outlets via the HomeKit app. Through a few days of research and comparing energy strips, I stumbled upon this strip by Eve. At first, I wasn’t completely sold on the idea of spending $100 on a energy strip that only had three outlets. However, with no other HomeKit enabled options in sight, I decided to pony up and purchase it to see if it was worthwhile. Out of the box, I did have a little difficulty pairing it. If you also have the same issue, try resetting the strip by holding down the first and third power buttons for 10 seconds until the lights blink. After doing that, I was able to successfully pair my strip. The strip is incredibly sturdy and does have some nice quality weight to it. It does not feel cheap, and, considering the price point, I am happy with the quality of the construction. They also did not cheap out on the wire, as it provides you with about six feet of length from plug to strip. The Eve Home app is also rather intuitive and allows you to control your other HomeKit enabled accessories directly from there as well. Prior to purchasing this model, I did try to go with a cheaper alternative that did similar things. Although it was okay for a little while, I found myself wanting to have the control of my room at the power of my fingertips within one centralized hub—HomeKit.     • POOR DESIGN - TOO DUMB, NOT SO SMART

POOR DESIGN If the Eve Energy Strip loses its IP address on a network, the Eve Energy Strip must be manually power cycled to force it to re-query the router's DHCP controller for a new IP address. If the Eve Energy Strip loses its IP address (drops off network), that IP address may be re-assigned to another network device by the router's DHCP controller. Thus, the Eve Energy Strip's previous IP will no longer be available for the Eve Energy Strip, and the Eve Energy Strip will have to ask the router's DHCP controller for a new IP address. Unfortunately the Eve Energy Strip is TOO DUMB, and does not know it should ask for another IP address. Partial Fix = Assign an "IP Reservation" in the router's DHCP controller, so the Eve Energy Strip will always have the same IP address when it is connected to the network. So hopefully if the Eve Energy Strip loses network connectivity, it will re-connect using its previous IP address, because that IP address is reserved in the router. Not a Complete Fix = Unfortunately, the Eve Energy Strip is TOO DUMB, it may not remember its previous IP address, and will have to be manually power cycled anyway. Only other fix is to buy a smarter device. NOT RECOMMENDED. ... show more
