Well, it works great due to fantastic customer service. Here is what happened. When I first received it in the mail. I tried it and it worked fine, but....the head moved noticeable which I thought was kind of strange but it worked, flames on easily, has a good mechanism to stop the gas from flowing, hand guard, and nice blue flame that was adjustable with turning the knob. Besides that movement, the quality of the materials used for this product is well made. I like the foot it has to keep it standing up, and it has a straightforward lighting mechanism and procedure. Slide back that red tab, which is a good safety feature, you hear the hissing of the butane, then push the trigger right above it, it causes a spark and ignites the butane, fast and simple. To close, just turn that know the opposite direction until that red tab clicks in and locks it Simple. Of course, you have to supply the butane, it comes empty for good reasons. So when I got an email about how was my purchase, I mentioned it was okay but it move a bit, they immediately reply and helped me with checking the screws on the bottom if that was the cause of the movement, I tighten them as suggested but it was still moving, so after I replied it was still moving, they sent me an email notifying me I would get a replacement in the mail. Well, the very next day, there it was in my mailbox, the replacement torch and it works fine no movement. So they do stand behind their product and are quick to help remedy. I must of gotten a 1 in million defect, which happens, but the seller was super responsive to fix the problem. Now...I can test it on a lemon meringue pie I am planning this coming weekend and for my future baking needs. Hurray, Great seller service on their product too.

While I truly felt the product had great potential, I was initially unable to fully rate the torch as the one delivered was defective. After writing my initial review and just before I started the return, the seller contacted me, apologized for the defective item, and informed me a replacement was on the way. I received the replacement torch the following day and it worked exactly as expected. Not only is the torch well made, it has an excellent flame and burn and can be adjusted from a 4-5 inch steel melting inferno all the way down to just a flicker. I have used many times since receiving and even had a chef friend of mine try it out to compare this product to her commercial torch. According to her, for this price point, this little torch performed well and was very good quality. However, what truly impressed me is the seller's responsiveness to my inquiry, their acceptance of responsibility for a defective product, and the speed and willingness to "make things right". I use Amazon continuously and as many of you know, not all sellers respond to a return request in this manner and at times outright refuse to work with you. Great job. If you're looking for a good quality, fairly priced and versatile kitchen torch, make sure you get this one and make sure you get it from this seller.

This product is great for baking, hands down. But also it works at soldering off the intrinsic locking mechanism for a Cobalt x-25 series safe. A standard blow torch applies too much heat and will trip the safe to activate its secondary lock, in which case you’ll run out of time. With just one butane canister and my fiber optic camera, I was able to govern the flame to take advantage of a glitch in the internal cable wire that holds the latch down as my friend Carlito waited nearby in a van and my best friend Dave stood above and watched. ‘I thought you said this would take 15 minutes, what are we paying you for?’ Dave asked me. But just then, I unsoldered the cable wire and popped the door open using this very butane torch that also makes exquisite creme brulee. ‘Oh look at that, record timing,‘ I said with a smile as I stood up and let Dave rummage through the safe and extract the documents and such that were placed in his duffle bag. ‘You and Carlito wanna grab a drink after this or come over my place and watch Step Brothers?’ ‘Umm, no. We are busy, sorry.’ ‘Busy? Busy with what?’ I asked. ‘We are just busy ok? Stop being weird.’ ‘Ok fine then, maybe I am done helping you open all of these safes. Maybe I was a stupid head for thinking you were my friend. Goodbye forever, you jerk.’ ‘Wait, wait! Ok let’s grab one drink but then that’s it. Ok?’ When we pulled up to what I thought was the bar later that night, I was pushed out of the van as it sped off into this distance. My advice is to use this torch only for baking, don’t waste your time on opening safes for people who say they are your friends but aren’t true blue. Real friends don’t lie and tell each other that they care about you and then abandon you at a bar that is really just a gas station. I opened 3 different safes for Dave on behalf of his grandfather who apparently owned 3 different houses and who only wanted to the work to be done at night while he worked the night shift. And for what? Nothing. I would have been better off making Creme Brulee which in Spanish means ‘French burned sugar’.
