  • Hard-working unit
Set name: 10,000 BTU
Took a few minutes to install I also purchased the cover for the hose. make sure you use a lot of your duct tape where the hose comes to the air conditioner because if there's hot air blowing at the air conditioner it'll stop the air conditioner for a while from working it's overheating but just put more duct tape on it. I only had to do that a couple times and now it's all set I have it setting up on a milk crate to make it a little higher. We've experienced a couple Heat Wave days around 100° and this brings the temperature to about 78 in here which is absolutely wonderful I also have 1 Dreo fan and a small dehumidifier. I love the remote control, small size of the air conditioner everything that I hoped it would be! ... show more

  • Powerful cooling, quiet operation, and excellent value
Set name: 10,000 BTU
I am extremely impressed with this EUHOMY 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner. For its size, the cooling power is outstanding. What really surprised me is how evenly it cools the room — it is not just blowing cold air in one direction, but making the whole room feel cool like the inside of a refrigerator. The unit runs so smoothly that I hardly ever notice the cooling system kick on, which makes it even more enjoyable to use. Cleaning is very easy, and the company was great to communicate with whenever needed. I also really appreciated that this unit came with a drain hose included. I have owned several portable AC units over the years, and this is the first one that actually shipped with a drain hose, which is a big help just in case. For the price, performance, and convenience, this has been an excellent purchase ... show more

  • 10,000 BTU, 6000 SACC rating, good overall but exhaust hose connection is poor.
Set name: 10,000 BTU
Overall this is a good portable AC unit. I could not immediately locate it but the SACC rating for this unit appears to be 6,000 SACC. What this means is basically it cools about like what a 6,000 BTU window AC unit would. This is despite the unit I bought being 10,000 BTU. Portable ACs as a rule are more inefficient than central air or window units. For myself the 6,000 SACC rating is just fine because it is replacing a 5,000 BTU window unit. Noise level isn't an issue for me since I usually sleep with a white noise generator but I would say overall the noise from this unit on high is about comparable to the 5,000 BTU window AC unit it replaced. Perhaps just slightly more noise. The features on this unit are good. The remote control unit is functional with most of what you would want. Two omissions I would have liked to see are 1. A current temperature reading for what it is in the room and 2. Programming functionality so say set it for 76 degrees when I am at work, 72 at night, and 74 degrees when I am home. The biggest downside of this unit is the external hose and connecting material. Overall they are of decent quality however the connection mechanism is absolutely horrible. Yes I can get it together and to seemingly stay in place but not with any confidence at all just using what is provided. I have an eight pound cat and I'm pretty sure she could easily knock the hose out of it's position in the window mounting. Also where the hose threads into the mounting supports on both ends, it was very difficult to get it in correctly. When I read all the complaints I expected this but when I saw the video I had figured it was just a case of people not reading the instructions. Well, no. It really is that bad-- but it is fixable. The easy and cheap method is just to use some tape. You could use duct tape as I did but after applying it I learned it's not the best as the heat from the exhaust hose can actually melt the tape. Instead you should get special tape meant for HVAC systems which can withstand the heat of the exhaust hose (maybe 110 degrees F). Another option is to just get a portable AC installation kit for your window. This is probably the best choice but it will cost you some money. I don't know why the company made connection mechanism like this. It seems silly when it should be relatively cheap and easy to fix simply by using some sort of locking mechanism to properly look the hose in place at both ends and where it threads into the mounts. For this reason I have deducted a star. I've only had it for about a day now so cannot speak to the longevity (but I will update this if it fails within two years so if you don't see an update that is good news!) but it seems to be of decent quality so far. Cooling is pretty good as well. I have this unit on the second floor in a bedroom in Florida and it can cool the small 12ft by 12ft room down to 75 when it is 90 degrees outside. This is enough to make it feel comfortable. As far as water drainage goes, I'm a bit nervous about it. The manual doesn't talk at all about the drainage much. There is apparently a small tank inside the unit to collect the drainage. There is also a hose you can attach to drain it externally. I'm hearing that most people just need to drain it seasonally (so once or twice a year). I also see that according to the manual the tank fills up it is supposed to stop automatically and trigger an error. The one thing I don;t want this to do is leak. It seems to me it would have been better to have another small hole at the window where I could run the tube out to drain it automatically. Of course that would likely require some sort of pump as well. ... show more

  • Works good but creates negative pressure in house! Beware
Set name: 8,000 BTU
Works good will cool a bedroom or small office down. I bought 2 of these unit. Blows cold air, and vent outside. Dry mode is horrible doesn't really work. Disconnect duct and let hot air blow back in room. Room temp never really changed. Not much drainage. Cool mode does work well. HOWEVER read below before buying. WARNING! This is will be an issue for ALOT of homeowners. You need to realize this before buying these types of units. I was a mechanical contractor HVAC for over 20 years. I got these units last Friday. Ran than Sunday and Monday and Tuesday. Today is Wednesday..... My gas hot water heater (vents out b-vent), is creating a negative pressure in my house. So my hot water heater wasn't venting properly getting to hot and tripping my High Limit Thermostat. Upon inspection and after 10 resets i noticed hot exhaust (carbon monoxide) coming out my flue pipe. I took a lighter and it blew it out. Turned off the portable a/c units, the flame went in the flue vents as normal as it should. My house was built in the 70's, 40 years old so it's not air tight. But I can imagine homes today are much worse with the building restrictions at how everything has to be air tight now. So buyer beware. I'm sure opening a couple windows in different rooms will eliminate this. But it's can be counter productive on hot days. ... show more

  • Inexpensive Way to Cool the House
Set name: 10,000 BTU
Works and cools the room+ very well. Little loud, but tolerable. Easy to install, but had to put mosquito netting on the outside over the vent outlet to prevent insects or critters from getting in the vent hole. I bought 2 and put one at each side of a 1,000 sqft house in a bedroom. It is enough to cool the whole house. ... show more

  • Blows cold air
Set name: 10,000 BTU
I measured a 32 degree difference from input air to output air which is excellent. It's not an outdoor unit meaning don't get it wet but I use it to push cold air into a roof top tent. There are units designed for this which weigh less and have a "one handed" handle but don't work well for two reasons. The fans didn't blow much air and the output air only dropped 12 degrees which isn't good enough. This unit isn't exactly light but I'm only lifting it to and from the back of my SUV and it only takes up one square foot of space. I did have to create my own air connector / hose which was about $80. It's insulated so the hose only loses 7 degrees on a 90 degree day meaning the tent gets 65 degree air. The manufacturer could tap into a new market with a front air connecter like they do for the hot air. UPDATE 8-22 - Worked so good on my roof tent I figured I would try it indoors vented through a window. Instead of using the supplied plastic piece, I opted to use a standard 8" shelf board. Cut the length and a 6" hole; tightened the insulation wrap to to the AC connector using a Velcro band. Works great. ... show more

  • Excellent AC but can be loud on cool
Set name: 10,000 BTU
Very good but loud on cool. The motor does some weird idling and wakes me up so O have to leave on fan when sleeping because it doesn't do that BUT it cools the heck out of my room on fan and icy on cool. I still haven't figured out how to put in sleep mode. I don't think it works on mine. I pressed it and didn't work. Also, when it's on cool mode after it reaches the temp it will cut off. Don't like that either but fan stays on. ... show more
