  • Looks good and works well
Number of Items: 1
The first unit I received had some manufacturing issue that for some reason would not allow the unit to connect to wifi when connected to the electrical wiring. Only worked over USB. A replacement was sent in quickly by Eufy and the replacement works well. The product looks good and the lights change color, brightness, etc. The camera can moved to a certain angle so as to get the area of action. It is quite reactive to motion and the pictures are clear. A good product overall. ... show more

  • So far so good
Number of Items: 1
Ok, so here is my honest review on day one of this product and I plan on updating if there are any future problems. Right out of the box and on the wall, I am happy. For reference, this is my ONLY eufy camera so far and it was very easy to set up. I wanted to install this camera horizontally over my garage and realized horizontal install will not work on this camera. The reason being is the angle of the lens points downward (fixed), so turning it sideways would point the camera sideways. There is a slight left right angle adjustment, but not up and down. The recommended install height is 71 to 79 inches to center of hardwire box. Instructions say it can be installed up to 87 inches high, but will effect the motion sensor functions. Mine is installed higher than 87 inches, but it is installed facing a driveway that slopes downward so the fixed camera angle works fine for me. So far the motion sensor works great and is not triggered at cars passing on the street, but is triggering with people walking up the driveway (which is what I wanted) People complaining about the resolution or motion sensor on this camera are not being reasonable about a camera at this very low price point. This camera is designed for a porch, patio, or people walking up close on your property and they sell different cameras for longer term range. The entire unit is a plastic case but it does not feel cheap. You can turn (manually) one or both of the lights to face the building, which I think is pretty cool for less direct lighting. The app sends me a notice to my phone when it detects motion. I can open the app and see the video that is locally stored on the device itself (4gb storage included on unit.) I do not have a delay and it comes up almost instantly, but my unit is within 50 feet of my router and I think that (and phone speed) makes a big difference as to notifications. Eufy has the local storage on the unit for NO monthly fee, OR you can choose “cloud storage”—for cloud storage, the price (Feb 2023) is $2.99/month for one device 30 days of storage or $9.99/month for up to 10 devices 30 days of storage. I plan on buying the HomeBase3 (additional local) storage in the future when this device is compatible (website says April of 2023, but I understand they are facing some delays with that.) The light can be programmed on my phone, turned on or off, set to timer or motion sensor, change colors (any rainbow color you want) all from my phone. The audio is decent and I can hear if people are talking in the driveway. The video resolution is not good enough to capture license plates unless parked in the driveway directly under the camera. For the price point, I think this camera/ light combination is a great value. This camera faces South under a covered eave and I’m curious how long it lasts before I get some lens burn or problems with the casing. I will update if I experience any problems and will update with the HomeBase3 compatibility once I get it. Some considerations for future improvements would be: —Make the wiring screwdriver and the install screwdriver all Phillips head (don’t make people bring multiple tools up a ladder with flat and Phillips mixed) —The set screws on the sides of the unit are ridiculously tiny and should be bigger. —better unit to mount plate connection —make the unit able to install horizontal with a positionable camera angle. —make an identical lighting unit without a camera for mounting on both sides of garage (or similar nearby applications) Stay tuned for review updates at this unit ages. I hope this review was helpful to your shopping. ... show more

  • Works OK but has some annoyances
Number of Items: 1
(Update 11/26/24 - 6 months in) Overall, the camera still works well and I haven't had any issues. Just a reminder to make sure that your internet connection is good outside the house where you mount this camera. I use a mesh network with multiple points, so that was never an issue. Increasing a star to 4/5. (Update 8/3/23 - 1 month in) One drawback of this camera is the lack of a locking mechanism to prevent it from rotating left to right. This can lead to issues if you've set specific motion-detection boundaries. For example, if the camera is accidentally moved (or while adjusting the rotating lights to face a different direction), the boundaries become misaligned. You’re then forced to either reposition the camera manually or reconfigure the boundaries in the app. Another concern is the app’s inability to set an interval between motion detection alerts. As a result, the camera sends a notification every time motion is detected, which can become overwhelming if motion occurs frequently. In contrast, other Eufy products, such as their indoor cameras, allow users to configure an "Interval Time (mins)" to limit alert frequency. While this feature is highly convenient, it’s disappointing that it isn’t available across all Eufy devices. A more consistent and streamlined feature set across their product range would greatly enhance the user experience. (Initial review after one day of use - 7/25/23) *Install* The initial setup process involves connecting the device to a power source via USB and following the on-screen instructions. Once the setup is complete, the next step is the installation of the light. Unfortunately, the installation proved challenging. Aligning the two small screws that secure the light/camera to the base plate was particularly difficult. It required significant force to position the device correctly so the holes would align for threading. This process was frustrating and raised concerns about potentially stripping the threads or screws. While it’s unclear if this issue was due to a defect in my unit, the alignment was especially tricky to manage while working on a ladder to install the device at a higher elevation. *App* One significant frustration with the Activity Zone settings is how challenging it is to adjust the shape accurately. The interface uses small circular handles to modify the zone, but these are difficult to grab and manipulate. If you miss the handle, the entire zone moves instead, which can be incredibly frustrating. On my Samsung Fold phone, even using a stylus didn’t entirely resolve the issue—more often than not, the app would mistakenly grab the entire zone rather than the individual points. Additionally, if you accidentally drag the edge of the screen, it compresses the zone, undoing the effort you’ve spent fine-tuning the area. Improving the precision and usability of this feature would significantly enhance the experience. That said, the camera functions similarly to other Eufy products in terms of app integration and settings. The video quality is good, and I haven’t encountered any issues with the camera itself. The ability to customize the light’s color from the app is a nice touch. You can schedule the light to turn on in specific colors and even set it to change when motion is detected. For instance, a red light triggered by motion could serve as a creative way to deter intruders. ... show more

  • Very good idea and everything works well
Number of Items: 1
This is the first time I've ever bought a eufy product, and it's a great idea. I was looking for a new light and also a camera for the monitor, until I found this perfect product which has a combination of both functions, even at this nice price. It really gave me a lot of surprises; First, I was surprised and pleasantly surprised by the design of the 3-wire clamp, which are really easy to install. The lighting and cam system work very well. I like its diverse lighting modes very much, and it also allows me to choose the color I like during holidays. The camera works well both during the day and at night, and the picture quality is really clear, perfect for monitoring in front of my house So far so good. Keep an eye on its performance and consider replacing the old lights in the backyard as well. ... show more
