  • Updated: Works great all of the sudden! WAS: No Joy.
Color: Olive Green
Updated: After replacing some extruder parts it prints like it supposed to. It probably was worn out extruder gear in combination with overheated bowden tube which was causing failure to feed. Other filaments still worked for some reason but eventually they also failed. There is no way I am leaveing bad review posted knowing it wasnt eSuns product fault. Like I said, 3D printing is hard. Original: 3D printing is hard. There are so many variables, one can never be sure of cause of failure. With eSUN PLA PRO I am out of ideas and throwing in the towel. I did sever attempts at different settings and all prints failed with clog like symptoms. I have changed the nozzle, adjusted bed level hoping Im too close on first layer, changed temperatures from 225 down to 208 in some increments, and heated chamber temp 50C to 35C and to open door ambient, all with no difference. Prints were failing within first hour, mostly about 20 min in. Once I gave up I loaded up a roll of Polymaker PLA Pro and, without touching any settings, I did successful print right on first try ( 208C/60C 50mm/s ). Im not going to say eSUN PLA is no good. But it did not work for me at all while other filaments did My equipment: Ender 3 with swapped in Creality direct extruder Creality tent 300W lamp with thermostat ... show more

  • No desiccant packed with reel...
Color: Pink
The media could not be loaded. I bought the pink to make a few items for my wife... there wasn't a desiccant package with the sealed reel. This is the third time I purchased eSun filament from Amazon--the other two reels had desiccant. I printed a simple file and it came out pretty good. I'm using a Qidi X-Max 3 and it's been giving me very good results no matter what filament I put in it. Well on my second print with this filament I started having an issue of the extruder scraping the filament off after the first layer went down. I stopped the print and did a bed leveling calibration, I then restarted and slowed the print speed down about 20% until the 2nd layer was complete, then brought it back to 100%. I'm not sure if there's moisture in the filament, but it's currently printing and so far so good. Bed temp 60c, nozzle temp 220c. ... show more

  • Best filament i've used
Color: Cool White
by far the best filament i have ever used. Works perfectly for lithophanes too! I was new to 3d printing and found several other brands didnt have as good adhession nor did the quality come out as good as eSun. 5 stars for sure!

  • Best overall on Amazon but it has two quirks:
Color: Red
I have this in tons of colors and it typically prints great at 215c with a 50c bed on my ender 3. HOWEVER and this is a BIG however, if this filament gets wet before it's packaged it's actually some of the worst stuff I've dealt with. I think the way their spools and packaging are designed is flawed. They put the desiccant in the middle of the spool and then vacuum pack it which essentially seals off the desiccant bag entirely from the filament itself. So if the filament absorbs any moisture before being packaged, it will remain wet forever and have plenty of time to permeate deep within the filament making it very hard to dry. So if you have a new roll of this that suddenly seems to under-extrude, be brittle and not adhere to the bed or itself, send it back immediately. Save yourself a few days of hassle trying to get it dry again as you'll fail without professional tools. HOWEVER (and this too is a BIG however) this stuff is otherwise some of the easiest printing and strongest material I've worked with. So good in fact that I bought a filament dryer just to make sure every batch I get prints the lovely way it does when dry. The last 'quirk' I found out about this is that it apparently really likes to have the nozzle a bit higher from the print bed than other filaments, I think it's thermal expansion might be higher than average. I was getting stringing and boogers on every print that I felt was acceptible until my extruder started skipping. I'm pretty meticulous about leveling the bed and there were no other symptoms but I increased the nozzle gap by a little over 2x - I took my printer paper, folded it in half and gapped it loose with no dragging just barely touching instead of CHEP's (youtube) advice with a little drag on a single ply. After that, this stuff doesn't string, doesn't under extrude and I can keep increasing speed without issues. So, lower your bed a bit more than normal and go at it. This stuff is wonderful. ... show more
