The diffuser is a minimal style "tulip" design. We ordered the brown earthy finish. It is attractive, and looks just as depicted in the seller's pictures. The challenge is in setting the various functions on the unit. This diffuser is easier to use with the remote. Without the remote it's a constant guessing game - it's far more difficult than it needs to be since you only have 1 button for the lights, and 1 button for all other settings. We quickly gave up any hope of using this thing without the remote control, which makes it far more intuitive, since the remote provides different buttons for each function. The diffuser came with a 120 ml measuring cup. Kinda' ridiculous, since the diffuser requires 400 ml of water. So...., you will have to fill the tiny cup about 4 times to fill the diffuser, or toss it in lieu of a bigger one. Also the power cord is not USB. Rather, it has a barrel type connector with a block plug. The connector is on the bottom, making it difficult to plug / unplug if there's liquid in the diffuser. As such. I would recommend you plug the cord to the diffuser before you add the water. The diffuser mist is good and the ability to add essential oils is a plus. The capability to diffuse the mist into a "large room" though, is only possible if you have some circulation to disperse the mist.

I am very happy with this diffuser! First and most important -- put the plug in place BEFORE you fill with water. The plug connects to the base underneath (not on the side) and once you fill the base with water, you will not be able to access the plug-in spot and it takes a little dexterity to get the plug-in place even upside down. Otherwise, very simple to use with options for no light/solid light/ fading changing colors and options for type of mist and timer if desired using two simple buttons (or the remote) on the front of the base. This is a lovely diffuser and I particularly like that the tulip cover is made of plastic (though it looks beautiful and like wood), so that it is harder to break than glass if dropped-- the reason I am replacing my last one with this one. I also very much appreciate that the base that holds the water is a simple bowl shape -- so it is extremely easy to wipe clean if any deposits or mildew develop (no convoluted center stem or internal tanks tucked inside). The shape, the colors and the mist are so soothing and relaxing and it is 100% silent. I have it in my kitchen and it diffuses the scent I put in around my kitchen and living room and stairs. It isn't overpowering but rather subtle so my husband doesn't complain it is giving him a headache. The set comes with the plastic tulip cover (looks just like wood), the base, a plug, a small cup to pour water into the base (though not needed as the base is wide and open), and a remote control. I had it up and running in seconds and am very much enjoying it. The tank holds 400 mls and that seems to last a very long time. As I said, I have it in my kitchen, but this would be perfect for a child's room or a bedroom as the light is very slight and soothing to watch but doesn't light a room, or in a meditation area. I highly recommend this diffuser.

HIROGA, along with Asukuki, is two of several brands that share the same manufacturer. All operate identically. The ASUKUKI 500ml Premium, however, has a few advantages over the HIROGA which give it a better rating: • A 500ml tank (HIROGA’s is 400ml) for longer running time • Several wood colors to choose • 12-inch longer electrical cord • A misting aperture that points at an upward 45-degree angle, and can be rotated in any direction. HIROGA’s mist aperture points directly up at 90 degrees. • An easier to read and understand user manual These aside, both operate identically and use the same remote-control functions. The rest is a matter of aesthetics and personal preference. The ASUKUKI is smaller in height, and its frosted top fully glows when the light is activated, whereas the HIROGA features a discreet light ring and produces a moderately greater vertical mist flow. What’s to like: • As good a diffuser as there is • Whisper-quiet and reliable • A complete vase-like faux wood shell What’s not to like: • The top is not as easy to clean as other designs • User Manual is ok, but can be improved for clarity Overall assessment: All the diffusers made by this manufacturer are very good. Appearance, mist flow and water tank capacity should guide your choice.

The model of this HIROGA oil diffuser is nice. I like the wood grain finish because it blends in well with my hardwood floors, so had there been a score for design I would have rated it accordingly. I have other diffusers but none of them have a remote control. This is a nice addition to this unit. It works to turn it on, change the various, fun colors and control the mist. The overall functionality of this diffuser is inefficient. For instance, I was unable to locate the internal plug port. It is in a hidden location and after making several attempts to plug it into the screw holes, I began thinking I must have received a defective unit. Finally, my last attempt uncovered the plug far underneath the unit in a hidden location. I will admit that having the cord run underneath the unit does not cause it to be wobbly or unstable. Also the cord is nice and long, so it gives more room for placement. Additionally, I don't find the range of the scents to travel very far. And it is my practice to add more than just a few drops of oil so that I can be assured of receiving the scent. I have it set up in my library and I can barely smell it, except for when I get closer to it. It is very quiet when running, which is a plus. My take is, this is just an okay diffuser. If you are looking for style, this oil diffuser might work for you. But for a strong mist of fragrance, I cannot recommend it.
