I am a long-time popsocket fanatic, but decided to give this ESR ring grip a try because my popsocket doesn't work as a stand in portrait mode. Well, I might be just using this ring grip because I LOVE IT. As a stand this ESR ring works in both portrait and landscape mode and, mostly importantly, it is incredibly sturdy in both positions. As a grip it is VERY comfortable and easily spins around so that it can be held in different positions. When not in use, it all folds in very close to the phone, with just a bit of protrusion. However, because the whole thing is sturdy, it doesn't seem to get caught on pockets. What I also like about this compared to my popsocket is that it gives me a better grip on the phone when trying to take pictures at different angles. Because it's a ring, there's no way I am going to drop my iPhone. I am using this with a Mous bamboo case and the magnets on this ring grip are VERY strong. No issues with it falling off. I cannot speak to the durability of this, as I just got it, but I am probably going to get a second one to have just because it's so functional. Update: I have been using this for a few months now. I like it so much that I purchased a second one in a different color to use with another case. While my popsocket is still a bit more comfortable to hold in my hand, this ESR grip is way more functional. Biggest benefit of this grip is that it can be used to stand the phone up in landscape or portrait mode, something popsockets and most other grips cannot do. It does get a little less stiff with use, but so far continues to function perfectly and looks great on the phone too.

I’ve been using this ring stand for 2 months now, in everyday life, work, travel, etc., so I’ve used it enough to give an honest opinion and mini-review. I like the idea of the ring phone holder/stand, but until now I haven’t found the ‘perfect’ one. Either they’re too bulky, the magnet isn’t strong enough, the ring is too difficult for me to pull open without removing the magnet first (my nails have always been too short, but that’s another story), the hinge either is or gets loose over time, etc. etc. you get the idea. I have a good idea of what to look for because I’ve experienced what doesn’t work by trying other ring holders/stands over the years. This one, however, hits all the right spots imo. The magnet is strong, the hinges are tight and solid—able to hold the phone up in any position regardless of the direction of the hinge. Using this ring stand, I can easily switch from ring holder to ring stand without even changing the direction of the magnet. All of the others I’ve tried have failed to hold my phone’s weight unless the hinge is open like a kickstand. This one can actually hold it in any direction, and I was pretty surprised that the hinges held so well in their opposite directions. And although it’s compact and not bulky, I can still easily open the ring with my fingers without removing the magnet from the phone. I still have to remove it prior to charging through the MagSafe, but I believe that that’s an Apple thing, and not something that’s a plus or a minus for this product in particular. If you’re on the fence about getting this one or another one, get this one. You won’t regret it.

Edit 11/16/2023 I bought it for a third time because the ring stand itself is still the best I’ve found. I added a MagSafe ring to the exterior of my case in the hope that it will stay attached better. EDIT 6/23/2023 : as might have been expected, I lost this ring a few weeks after I bought it when I dropped my phone and the ring rolled away never to be found again. So if you do find that your ring doesn’t hold strongly I suggest just glueing it on and not losing it like I did. If It came with a 3m adhesive it would be a big help. ORIGINAL: This ESR ring holder and stand is a great concept. The overall smoothness of the material is great. The folding double rings to act as a stand is sturdy and welll executed. No hotspots on the ring and has a premium feel. The ONLY negative I have about it is that the magnets are decent but any drop will cause it to fall off. I use a Mous Limitless 5.0 case so perhaps there’s a problem with their case? I can’t tell. If the magnets were stronger it would be an easy five star accessory. There’s no looseness in the ring joints, it’s perfectly stiff. Very comfortable to hold in my hand with the rotating ring angles. The only other problem I have is that it make sit difficult to put in my car cradle so i have to remove it and i sometimes forget to put it back. I addressed it by hanging the ring on the bottom of the gravel feet so i automatically grab it when removing my phone.

I have owned the ESR magsafe ring holder for almost a year (since April 2023). It has a good build quality and excellent magnetic hold to the iphone, also the ESR phone case is excellent too. It stayed secure even when I was a passenger on an ATV going over rough terrain and holding the phone by the ring. Only recently did the top ring lose some of its sturdiness and start to slip if used to prop up the phone. I contacted support since it has a 12 month warranty and they responded right away. After answering their question I got a replacement within 2 days. I am very pleased with their support and the quality of their products that I have used so far.

I currently use this for my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I have gone through many MagSafe and non-MagSafe phone ring since the idea came out and this one by ESR has by far been the best quality. The dual rings give added flexibility of angles for both holding the phone in your hand and standing the phone on a surface. The magnet is strong in my personal opinion; I have both dropped the phone on accident and held it over tall heights to take pictures without the magnet ever disconnecting from my case. My only issue is the outer ring lost its tension after only ~4 months of moderate use. I contacted ESR and they were able to send me a replacement without any issues. Aside from that durability aspect, I plan to continue buying this ring holder unless someone can convince me there is a better longer-lasting product out there.
