  • Great coffee maker for camping or outdoor use!
Style: With Coffee Filter Color: Brushed Stainless Steel
First off, let's get the latest issue out of the way. I purchased this item at retail from Amazon and have not been compensated, reimbursed or credited in any way. Now on to the review. I purchased this item as a portable coffee maker for camping. With that use in mind, here are some of the points I liked about this coffee maker. 1. It worked as advertised. Using this item to make French Press coffee was a snap. The double filter reliably screened out grounds, as long as you followed recommendations about how much water to use.(High water marks are stamped in the stainless steel interior and are easy to see and use). 2. The stainless steel vacuum bottle portion of the coffee maker allowed the beverage to remain hot for multiple hours. I had hot coffee through the course of the day. 3. The lid was easy to drink through. 4. The build quality seems to be very good. I haven't had any issues with any of the plastic or rubber items not functioning as they are intended. There were a couple of items that I found a bit frustrating though. They were: 1. Having to have a separate lid you had to find, keep handy and screw on if you wanted this item to seal and not leak if it was tipped over. Not a deal breaker, but an extra step and an extra piece to keep around if you wanted to throw this coffee maker into a bag and have leaks not happen. 2. Due to the double seal, cleanup was a bit more involved that what you would see in a standard French Press pot. Overall, this item was a gem for what I wanted it for. Hot, flavorful French Press coffee to sip on while camping, and no cold coffee! ... show more

Style: Casual Color: Brushed Stainless Steel
This product is perfect for travelers who are picky about coffee! No more bad hotel coffee! I take this everywhere with a container of my own fresh ground beans. It does great job and is well insulated so you can take your coffee on the go and sip later. The screw on cap insures no spills. Love this! ... show more

  • I figured this travel version was a good compromise. Overall
Style: With Coffee Filter Color: Brushed Stainless Steel
I bought this thing looking for an alternative to the aeropress I use at work. I've always preferred the taste of a french press brew to the aeropress, but a full sized press would have been too much to keep around the office. I figured this travel version was a good compromise. Overall, it's a pretty good press. The company that makes it likes to talk about their filtration system. They say it gets under the grounds and filters better than a traditional press which is supposed to remove more of the sediment. I haven't noticed any sediment in my coffee so far, but the coffee tastes about the same as coffee made in a regular press, which OK by me because that was the whole reason I bought it. Their bucket press design does do a good job of stopping extraction so long as you don't add a preposterously large amount of coffee to the thermos. For the whole idea of a travel french press to work, it is paramount that there is a way to stop extraction of the coffee and this thing does that job pretty well. The press works well and the thermos does a good job of keeping the coffee hot. It seals well too, I filled it up, put the cap on and flipped it around to check for leaks. I didn't find any. The design of the lid/ drinking spout does a good job of helping the coffee stay put until you want to take a sip. As far as travel mugs go, this one does that better than any other mug I've used. One major drawback to this design, is that if you use sweeteners in your coffee, you need to put them in during the brewing process if you want to use the press as a travel mug. (otherwise, you would have to bring an extra cup to drink out of, which sort of defeats the point of a travel mug.) If you are particular about how you make coffee, this could be an issue for you (and I guess if you are considering purchasing a ~40 dollar mug, then you are probably the sort of person who is particular about their coffee.) They could alleviate this problem by designing a lid which doubles as a cup, or by adding a little door in the removable collar which you could open to add sugar but if they did one of those things, they might have to sacrifice the sleek and compact aesthetic. Overall it 's a good press and a good travel mug. I rated it four out of five stars because of the need to mix sweeteners in during the brewing process ... show more

  • My New Go To
Style: With Coffee Filter Color: Matte Meteorite Black
I received my Espro Travel Coffee Press at my front door just before I was on my way to work. Perfect timing. As soon as I got to work I read the instructions and made my first cup. I LOVE the way this coffee press is made. It is very comfortable in my hand and once you make the coffee, you can drink from any angle without looking for a sipping hole and the cup is always cool to the touch. I am a decaf coffee drinker so I don't drink for caffeine, I drink for the taste. So with that being said, after the first cup I realized that I needed 2 tbsp to satisfy my taste buds. Voila! Perfect. I use powdered coffee creamer and raw honey in my coffee so I put the creamer and honey in first and then put my coffee grinds on top of that. The amount of coffee I use may change once I make sure my next batch of coffee beans are a course grind as suggested for coffee presses. I used hot water from my office's water system. Not only was the water hot enough to brew the coffee but the coffee stays VERY hot for quite a while without leaving a burnt taste over time. The press itself is very snug around the inside of the cup making sure that coffee grinds do not seep into the coffee which is fantastic. Cleaning is no more cumbersome than any other press. I just ordered a tea and cocktail strainer to pour the used coffee grinds into so I can toss the grinds either in the trash or compost versus pouring them down the sink when I go to clean the unit. With trial and error I learned how to screw the bottom part of the press onto the cup securely and then comfortably unscrew and/or gently set the top portion of the cup's cap for easy use. GREAT coffee press. I am very glad that I made this purchase. ... show more
