12x16 wood grain metal top gazebo review. Pros: Absolutely beautiful once assembled. Quality curtains and netting. The wood grain goes extremely well with our home. Quality constructed once assembled. Packaging was nearly perfect. Nearly. Cons: directions are absolutely terrible. The entire booklet is printed pictures, letters, and numbers. Thank God my husband and I are knowledgeable in this area. Metal roof pieces were slightly curled or dented. We were able to get those worked out. Bolts are difficult to line up, but we got the majority in. 2 weeks later, we have to buy different bolts to put through the braces and rooftop. Reason being, the threads aren’t allowing certain bolts to go in. The threaded grommets have either popped out, or they’re incorrectly tapped. Good luck with the roof panels. They go in, however, it takes at least two people. One underneath and one up top. Both to guide these panels into the correct channels. Ugh! We have already lost a zipper pull, so I recommend taking needle nose and tightening your pulls. They will fall off. Regardless, we’re happy with the product, but it is a struggle.

When I shop, I like to pay a reasonable price for a good quality product, no more and no less. After using a $150 cheap option a few years back, I wanted to get something sturdier and more permanent that wouldn't blow away with a casual 30mph wind gust. This is sturdy, quality built, packed and shipped correctly, and simple instructions. I believe I spent about 5 hrs on this over a few nights. Notes for those who like notes. I am fairly handy around the house, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and so on. That doesn't apply here. If you have put together your fair share of ikea furniture and other items that come with hex wrenches, this is what you will be doing. I used a star bit in a cordless drill to speed things up and this was worth it. Warning though if you have not done this previously, they don't want you to use a drill in many of these instances because you can turn it too far and break things, so keep it on low speed and set to trip on a low torque setting. The screws on the corners that I had to use the hex wrench for can be tricky. If some of the holes don't line up perfectly, just move/wiggle the things around a bit to get them to line up, might have to loosen another screw first to get the 2nd screw in. Be patient. This does not need 3 people to build, I did it myself with young kids helping from time to time. Its preferred to have 2 adults to hold things up high on step ladders and such but that only happens for about 15mins if you follow instructions. One last thing, follow the instructions, if you don't understand it, don't guess, just go back 1 page, review what you just did, then read slowly onto the next page, have all of your pieces laid out, look at them, use a bit of common sense to figure out how they belong together on the unit, and then the aha moment will come. I had to re-read a few of them to get it in my head before installing. This is normal and its not a fault of the manufacturer, its just the gap between maker and assembler.

After looking for several weeks at local home improvement stores only to find they were sold out for the season, I went to looking online. I viewed similar sizes online at premiere gazebo vendors but i did not want to spend the money they were selling them at. So out of curiosity I jumped on Amazon. This gazebo fit all of our specifications, so with a pit in my stomach, I placed the order. A few days later the boxes arrived via Fed Ex at my home. The boxes were delivered without many bumps or dents on the outside so I was happy. Once we were ready to begin getting things laid out I cut open the boxes to find all the panels nicely packaged, labeled and secured with additional enforcements mounted inside the boxes. With all of the parts that there is that makes up this gazebo we only ran into one tiny flaw on the top side of a roof panel. A minor scratch that we put clear coat on. The instructions are pretty much all picture illustrations with very little written details, yet they were easy to follow. The tools they included would be sufficient to construct the unit although we opted for power screw drivers. So far I am very happy with my purchase and glad I checked Amazon and not give into paying a higher price elsewhere.

This gazebo exceeded my expectations. The footprint is slightly smaller than the 12x16 roof coverage. For our area, it was preferred that the footprint is slightly smaller than the roof coverage area, which was ideal and allowed me to get a larger size gazebo! We hired a contractor to assemble the gazebo and he said he was surprised and impressed at the quality. He indicated some items had been damaged during shipping but he was able to work around it. A detail that I had not been able to determine from other reviews or from official pictures was that there are, in fact, two hooks in the ceiling for a ceiling fan or lights comments that are. (I bought these two ceiling fans from Lowe's, they plug into a regular outlet, are water resistant, have a light, and are very quiet. I also bought the 12-in down bar so the fans would be a little closer to the action.) The contractor painted some conduit black, ran a power cord through it, and create a junction box at the ceiling in between the fans for easy power that looks like it's part of the kit. It took our contractor 8 hours, spread over 2 days, to assemble it. He worked by himself and had no issue with getting the job done. I'm sure this gazebo will make our days and nights more enjoyable here in Southern California.
