  • Really great strings.
Color: Group I (55-110) Style: 4-String
These are so much More comfortable to play on than round rounds. And they have a spectacular full sound too. My custom bass has extremely Bright pickups which I'm sure helps

  • Very nice strings
Color: Group 2.5 (45-105) Style: 4-String
Worth the money! I love having the ability to slide the frets without the loud squeak. Smooth playing, feels great!

  • Great flats that work on a string through body
Color: Group 2 (50-105) Style: 4-String
I put these on a Paranormal Rascal bass to give it a more vintage tone and to match the retro look. They held up well considering it's a string through bridge and flats usually don't like to bend around corners like that. Tone is great, they're a little more punchy than most so you can still get a good rock sound when needed and they're smooth as butter under my fingers. At $40 I couldn't be happier with my purchase. ... show more

  • Silk winding too long and sits on bridge but sound not affected
Color: Group IV (40-95) Style: 4-String
Nice flat wounds. Silk wrapping sits on bridge but sound seems okay. Like the smooth feel of these and minimizes buzzing and noise.

  • Great Quality, Pros & Cons, Not great with Rocksmith
Color: Group III (45-100) Style: 4-String
Ok, there are pro's and con's here, and its not the strings, it's me. First off these strings have a unique feel, a smooth matte surface, and they feel very durable. I play for fun with Rocksmith, and the normal bass strings have been hurting my fingers as I don't play enough to get calluses. I looked into getting flatwould or groundwound strings to help with this issue. These strings are smooth, however, now I have new issues that I didn't expect. Instead of the sandpaper feel of normal strings, these smooth strings burn my fingers (like a carpet burn) when sliding. This is probably due to the increased surface area touching your fingers using a flat string. I also noticed that my right hand is getting very tired plucking, I never had that issue with normal strings. It seems that it takes about twice the energy to pluck flat strings, probably again due to the increased surface area on the string surface. Also the flat strings have a different sound or tone than the normal strings, which I expected, the issue is that Rocksmith doesn't pick up the low notes as well on these strings making it harder to play the game. The strings sound great through my amp, the issues I am having are particular to my noob situation, and playing Rocksmith. I am still pretty new to playing bass, and to anyone else out there playing rocksmith I recommend sticking with normal strings. ... show more

  • Great strings
Color: Group 5 (45-130) Style: 5-String
First time putting flats on one of my basses. They sound and play great. They sound very bright for flats but that could also be because they are brand new. 5 out of 5. I put these on my musicman stingray 5H very nice

  • Great on the Hoffner beatle bass
Color: Group III (45-100) Style: 4-String
As I said, I put them on my beatle bass. They are smooth and deep and really hold their tuning well but that’s what you come to expect when you buy Earnie balls..

  • Great Bass Strings Scores a Save for a $450 Bass
Color: Group 5 (45-130) Style: 5-String
Great strings. Was really disappointed with my Yamaha TRBX-505 until I put a set of these on. That and an adjustment of string heights tamed the trebles, and really brought out the mids. Now this has become is my versatile, go-to bass, and I've barely touched my upgraded Lakland 5501 since. I only noticed a few weeks ago that they were sounding duller and that the intonation was out. I was really surprised to see that these strings have been on my bass for 2 years and 5 months. They really held up well. 7-18-2017 - Update... Ernie Ball needs to go lighter on the string windings for the Low B and and Low E strings. Last time I installed, I could barely get the windings though the bridge. This time, I could not get either string completely through the bridge. Each of these strings are resting on the windings rather than the ball end. Check other reviews to see if this is unique to Yamaha bridges or problematic for other bass guitars. ... show more
