Uniquely loud and clear for its size, great for both conferences and music
The SP 30 is a top notch conference speakerphone with good far field mics (tested to 10ft distance), very good voice audio and excellent music playback. The downside is that the interface is a little cumbersome and confusing for some more advanced options, but easy to use the basics. I've owned a couple dozen speakerphones over the years and this is my current favorite for the combination of audio quality, high max volume, voice pickup at a distance, and portability. Connectivity is also a plus, with direct to PC USB C as well as bluetooth. Both worked well for me, and I prefer to use USB for laptop connections with BT for phone connections. The one tricky thing to figure out is the volume control which allows separate volumes for conferences, music and prompts, but after reading the manual, it really is easy and convenient. The key is to adjust each volume during use of the content type, i.e., connect for a conference then adjust, play music and then adjust, or, for the prompts that the SP 30 plays, adjust when not connected to either conference or music content. The settings are stored and reapplied when you next connect the content type. This turned out to be important for me, as I hate for voice prompts to play when I'm using a speakerphone with others present in the room. Hence, I have prompt volume set to minimum, while conference volume is preset to the midpoint. Overall, a very good choice for most conferencing situations, with the bonus of good music playback. Bought an open box and got a very good deal as well. Recommended.
