  • Also a good buy even though it's not cheap, it works well!
Having a couple of months I have hooked it to first one, now two solar panels and it works without any hiccups that I can tell! Doesn't use too much juice so the batter is set to go the next day, and I enjoy using it not worrying about the grid being overloaded!

  • Updated controller.

Very happy with this upgraded charge controller. Will be installing it and 4,100-watt solar panels on my travel trailer for boondock camping.

  • good product, but poorly documented
Color: Triron4210N MPPT controller
I have the 40-A model with the DS2 display. The unit seems to do what it's supposed to do, but so far I cannot figure out how to reset the accumulated kWh (kilowatt-hours) on the PV display. I want to compare day-to-day solar performance, hence I want to be able to reset kWh to zero at the start of a solar day. The "manual" is not very helpful. And there is no "help" phone number or e-mail address to pose the question. ... show more

  • Great mid range controller
This was an upgrade to the POS $20 controllers found elsewhere on Amazon. This was a solid choice. I opted to include the Bluetooth module. I run a 12v system with a micro hydro and single 35w panel. The 20amp controller is overkill for me. At most I generate 40v and 2 amps. I like that I can set the battery type and can get readings on the state of the load the battery and power source all in a single view. I would prefer it didn't cycle through the various stats on its own but that isn't a showstopper. I have found that having the remote control is necessary. There are so many settings and features that are only useable in the app. The app itself is not great but functions well enough. The instructions are confusing for the more complex aspects of the unit. Took some research to answer my questions. Since my setup is off grid this ment I could not do my settings with the web open but had to make a trip each time to make a change. Overall would recommend. ... show more

  • Works good, easy to use
Purchased the 20am Triron MPPT charge controller plus a blue tooth adaptor in March of 2020. I hit U-tube for help on setting up a tablet to read the Bluetooth. My first experience using a tablet. Accouple of weeks latter I purchased a lithium battery. It was a super easy to put in the charging parameters for the lithium battery. No codes needed it was just change the values and send. The charge controller does keep the settings when disconnected from the battery. I have disconnected it several times and has not lost the settings. The amps, volts and kw readings are sent to the Tablet only when hit the refresh button/swipe screen or other method. There are several ways to refresh the data. It would be nice to have an option of doing a continuous data transfer with away to go back to just sending data when requested to save power. Seems to be very efficient on the MPPT conversion. I would defiantly buy the unit again. ... show more

  • Nice controller.
First the dislike... while the DS2 screen allows almost all options to be set.... you can't set the time. Have to use a PC and USB adapter cable. (Which lowered my rating from 5 stars to 4) Other than that it is working as advertised. I recently added some panels and will need the 40a version to fully utilize my arrays capabilities. Hookup was a breeze. The default settings work for me at this time. At 20a it does start to warm up but seems to handle it okay..so far. I purchased this controller as it allows me to put my array in series to minimize loss in my cables from the array. It seems to switch to mppt mode around 7-8 watts of array power. Very nice. I use a Raspberry PI to collect statistical data and graph it using the rs485 interface built into the charge controller. That is very important to me in my choice of controllers was the ability remotely display data. Overall I am very satisfied with the operation of the controller to date. ... show more

  • Works well so far
So far so good, everything works as expected. I bought the full kit with the remote and temp sensor. Hooked up to couple of 75A batteries (one at a time for now because I'm waiting to receive lugs and fuses before I connect them together), and a 370W solar panel with a sine wave inverter. I tested with 100W load and battery gets charged up very quickly in full sun, and lots of useful voltage/current/power stats on the controller display, and remote. My only complain so far is the remote buttons are very hard to press. Will do more testing in the coming weeks if sun allows. ... show more
