I got 2 units b/c DIY solar with Will Prowse recommended them. You can trust Will Prowse. I also got the MT50 remote units mounted right beside them for viewing/ editing. I implented a 24V configuration. Each is connected to 3 Renogy 320W panels in series. I have 3 facing morning sun and 3 facing evening sun. The morning oriented panels produce significant power in the evening and vice versa, partly due to the 3 Renogy panels generating high voltage to siphon current from the sun. ... show more

The unit is made of cast aluminum with large fins to dissipate any heat. So far, the unit doesn't even feel warm to the touch. I prefer the aluminum to needing a fan which can fail. Would buy again for a small solar setup.
