Updated Review: Since we kept the collar, we tried softening it up and put it on our pup. We really like it now. My husband is able to easily grab the collar, when necessary. My hand is smaller so it feels tougher on my hand, but it's solid. The buckle is sturdy and reliable. Now that it's worn in, it's a hit! I have a Neapolitan mastiff, with a pretty thick neck. He's still a puppy so he has a lot of growing to do, but he is 120lbs. This collar is wide! I don't think I would mind as much if it were flexible, but it is pretty stiff. It does have a nice color, but my pup can't freely move his head as it fits more like a brace. It's bizarre. I still have it because the return was going to cost me, and the seller needed to evaluate the item to ensure I would be receiving a full refund minus the return amount. I hadn't damaged the item, and it still looks new, but given that I was already going to be charged for the return, I didn't want to risk losing any more money, and be left without the item. We still have it and may use it in the future if it loosens up a bit. Maybe I'll toss it around and smash it with a meat tenderizer to see if it'll better suit my big guy...Not for us. ... show more

Update- after almost a year of use this dog collar is still in perfect shape. My very strong and active 90 pound German Shepherd pulls and tugs on it very hard when she's outside on the cable and it's still in perfect condition. The color has faded some but the condition of the collar is still perfect. Highly recommend if you have a strong dog. This is a very heavy duty and sturdy leather collar. I bought it for our 80 pound German Shepherd who is very strong, she's been wearing it several months now and it still looks new. I would def order this again. ... show more

Ordered a S for my cavapoo 8 months old about 12 lbs. Fits perfectly. The collar is just as advertised. Tye thickness is perfect and the color is exactly like the pictures. Very happy with thus purchase. It arrived almost one week earlier than originally scheduled.

It’s a durable collar. However it there are some drawbacks. These colors have thin paint layer that will come off quickly. If your dog rubs against something or if the collar gets dirty and you wipe up the dirt with wet rug (I’m not talking about scrabbling it of course). It’ll look crappy fast. Also the leather is thick, it’s pretty hard to put on the collar and take it off. If you decide to buy it, go for it darker color, scuff marks won’t be as visible. ... show more

The Riparo collar is a good quality leather with a softer inner lining to provide a comfortable fit on neck. The dog has no complaints, and looks for it any time it’s removed for bath time. He also has the matching leash.
