  • Wish I had found this years ago!
My dog has been suffering with severe allergy problems for about 7 years. I experimented with many foods and settled on Taste of the Wild about 2 yrs ago. This helped some but still did not keep her comfortable. She smelled bad, had constant skin issues (infections, flaky skin, excessive oiliness), ripped her hair out by the bushel, had chronic ear infections with weepy goopy eyes, and acted obsessive compulsively about licking herself. Repeated trips to the vet produced sympathetic responses, but nothing that really helped. I had to treat her ears pretty much every day with Otomax or Panalog or she had them ripped open and bleeding. She couldn't be outside for very long because she would get excessively itchy. Giving her antihistamines and bathing her with cortizone were somewhat useful but I didn't feel it addressed the problem, just covered the symptoms enough to make things bearable for her. A friend of mine whose dog seemed to have similarly severe issues told me that she tried putting her dog on probiotics and saw an improvement. Willing to give it a try I purchased this product and the Probiotic Miracle in mid-December. When it arrived, I was skeptical that it would help; after all, if this was the answer, why didn't the vet recommend doing this a long time ago? Well, I will tell you that my dog has been on this for a month, and she is growing all of her hair back, she no longer smells awful, she has not had a single ear infection, and she is generally much calmer and happier. She is still getting some eye goopiness but that may be things working their way out or due to the dryness in the house since it's winter. We'll see if it keeps up. I was told by my friend that the person who told her about using probiotics said that you need to give them for as many months as the dog is old in years to see the true results. I have 10 months to go in that case, but I am thrilled so far. I would highly recommend this combination for anyone with a dog who has allergic problems or just skin issues in general. I am going to try them for my cat next because she loves to barf her food on my carpets, and I am wondering if this will help with that. ... show more

  • Finally some results for our epi dog!
Our dog, Moses, has struggled for years with skin issues and horrible allergies. He has tried multiple foods, allergy medicine/etc, yet his hair fell out and his skin got scaly and stinky at times. His poo was constantly too liquidy and he started losing weight rapidly 8 months ago. The weight loss was the final symptom that sent us to a new vet and online searching for a real diagnosis...epi. He is a german shepherd mix and we had no idea how common this digestive disease is. Poor thing won't ever be able to eat food without a digestive supplement but at this point, we are just grateful that he is alive and that he is gaining weight! Using this in conjunction with B-12 vitamins has made all the difference! His poo is a much better consistency, his hair has grown back and is SO healthy, and he no longer stinks or deals with scaly skin...it really was a miracle for us! He showed immediate results when we started this powder, with poo looking better within a week. It still varies, but it is a normal consistency more often than not. He also is finally gaining weight again, which was our biggest concern as dogs with epi literally whither away before your eyes. Just purchased 2 more containers as he has about finished the first one. For those of you with bigger dogs, please note that our dog who is large and eats 4 cups a day, uses 4 servings a day. This container lasted us almost 3 months. It is a bit pricey since we have him on grain free food, B-12's and this enzyme supplement, but I haven't seen this cheaper anywhere else. ... show more

  • Great brand
Never write reviews but I have a rare breed, 6 y/o Mexican Hairless dog (Xoloitzcuintle). He has a very sensitive stomach and it's more frequent with age. His skin was always itchy, frequent constipation and upset stomach. I began giving him this along with probiotic miracle, and I add a small amount of tumeric to his food. This combination has GREATLY improved my dog's quality of life. No more constipation, itching is minimal. Also give him a monthly dewormer/flea repellant tablet. This has helped him so much - behavior is more calm less stressed and much happier. Great brand 👍 ... show more

  • This medicine works well and in 3 months, I've used about half the jar.
I have a german shepherd with EPI and there were times I thought I would lose my dog to his condition. I tried everything, but the medications either didn't work or were unreasonably expensive and didn't last at all. I was tired of taking him out on adventures and having people looking at me like i was purposely starving my dog and felt hopeless. This medicine works well and in 3 months, I've used about half the jar. In the beginning I was too eager about making my dog a healthy weight and over fed him, don't do this take your time with the medicine. I fed him twice a day (3 cups total) with 2 scoops of the medicine in each meal. In about a month he was eating 5cups a day and I've capped the amount of food there. He also gets one spoonful of (dog safe) peanut butter a day because he loves it and it's fattening. I do this only during feed time so there is till medicine in his system. I also avoid giving him treats unless he's close to feeding time (try ice cubes or toys for rewards). This powder does work with cheap dog foods, but I don't recommend it as they are just fillers. Try something with salmon (fattening) or chicken and grain free foods. Overall I couldn't have gotten this far without this medication, and I'm happy that it has lasted so long and has been so efficient. ... show more

  • Works like a charm
My Chiweenie has pancreas problems. So much so that about a year and a half ago it nearly killed her. I discovered that eating very low fat and using digestive enzymes was the key. She slowly imporved. The enzymes helped keep her pancreas turned "off" and prevented the over-dumping of the caustic enzymes her own pancreas would do, causing extreme pain and damage. I had been using another brand, but when I went to reorder shipping was delayed. So, I tried this brand and am not let down. She will eat it (I mix the food with a little low fat chicken or beef broth) without blinking an eye. ... show more
