I saw this get down to $170 and it is absolute steal at that price, especially since it come with a leveler. The instructions is literally just an exploded view, and the hardware is not labeled so you have to guess what bolts go where in some cases. The instructions I had were a little different than what other reviewers posted, and some of the instructions on the version I received were wrong. For example, mine said to use the M16 bolts on the support brackets and the M14 on the main post. I think this should be switched as the M16 bolts did not fit. Also, it says to put the longest bolt on the boom pivot. It should actually be used on the top of the supports. Also, it's not clear that the lock pins are also used as the leg pivots. Finally the illustration has the bottom of the brackets attached to the outside of the frame (as well as in the Garveetch video). The other instructions posted here have it on the inside.

Does it's job. Only real complaint is that the instructions are absolute trash and it's a guessing game for some of where the bolts go. Seriously if you could just label the items more clearly it would have helped. Also, the instructions were so poorly printed I literally had to guess on over half the bolts locations. Take the 5 minutes and print more clear and precise instructions, it's literally holding 100 of lbs of metal by our feet.

Missing bolts, no lock washers. Terrible instructions, if they can be called instructions. Two large bolts and associated nuts were missing and I was surprised to find that no lock washers were included. I'll have to get replacements myself. I will use Locktite on the threads because no one wants any of the nuts to come off during a stressful lift. The engine hoist looks like a decent piece of equipment for a weekend mechanic but I'd suggest a more professional one for a serious mechanic. Fit and finish are decent and price is reasonable. I like the idea of a balance to adjust the load but it adds a lot of chain which may make a high lift more difficult. I haven't done a lift yet so can't comment on its effectiveness. I only have a 4cyl engine to lift so it won't be a difficult one. 4 stars is probably generous but if you don't mind buying a couple of your own bolts and don't need directions, this may be a worthwhile purchase.
