There are less expensive batteries out there, but Energizer batteries are the best, especially for motion cameras and outdoor thermometers which use a lot of power from time to time but must remain "on" throughout the day.

After a set of these batteries purchased elsewhere died an early death I purchased the same battery in two different stores. The date codes indicated manufacture dates from a few months to two years earlier. These were all within two months and the package of 8 was a good price.

Lithium are the best batteries these days. But the price is extraordinarily high! If our government continues to push to want everything to go to batteries, they need to find a way to make them affordable!
