We only turn our porch light on at night so I can’t speak to those who leave theirs on all the time, but we put ours in at the beginning of October for halloween (purple) and I still have it in now going into December. Not much to say about a light bulb. I don't know how long it will last nor do I know how energy efficient it is. If you need a yellow bulb this one is as good as any others I've had.
