Just replaced a 20 year old cooktop with this one and used it just for one day. It is a nice cooktop made with stainless steel. I would like to make some recommendations to Empava: 1) Burner Grate is unnecessarily heavy, it's almost 7.5 lbs, ideally it should not be more than 3 lbs 2) Burner grate is about 1.5 inches from the top of the burner cap, this is wasting the heat from the flame. Ideally it should be about 0.5 inch Will update after using it for couple of months .

Replaced an old Jenn air stovetop and was debating on spending $800-$1000 on a name brand but very happy with the quality of this unit. If you have any knowledge on home improvements or basic plumbing you can easily install it yourself. All you need is pipe thread tape for gas it’s yellow to seal the threads.

Item arrived with two broken grates and minor damage to the stainless-steel shell. Customer did give me an Amazon gift card to cover the damage and sent two replacement grates - which were for the wrong model. Resent two more grates - this time the correct ones. The replacement grills were packaged so well they could have survived being dropped from a helicopter while the original packaging looks like the contents could be damaged from a 3-foot drop. Why not more securely package the original product and prevent a hassle both for the customer and the company? If Empava had to charge $10 for better/thicker foam and a sturdier shipping box no one would complain. All that being said, I like the product after all the hassle. My old stovetop had 5 burners of all the same size and heat output while this stovetop has 3 different-sized burners each having different max BTU output. This is great if you just need to simmer or conversely boil a large pot of water very quickly. It will definitely bring out your inner chef. Much easier to clean than my old one and looks quite stylish. And even the medium-sized burners run hotter than my previous stovetop.
