Good price for a popular thermostat
A couple of days ago, I had the HVAC technician replace the same exact model with this newer version, which was installed 12 years ago. It started wearing out around last Thanksgiving. And yes, I used top-grade alkaline batteries. It finally gave it up a couple of months ago. Only took about 15 minutes to replace. After looking at all the basic models on Amazon, I decided to replace with the same model. I will say the display requires enough light to read it. Easy to use - Easy to Read - Looks Good - Long Lasting
This is a replacement for one I had. I prefer plain & simple, where I can turn the air conditioner, heater, or blower on and off when I want it and still have the thermostat tell me the temperature of the room, even when off. It looks good and is easy to use. If you don't want all the fancy settings to program and re-program, this is for you. My last Emerson thermostat was the original when the house was built in 1979. You can't beat that kind of durability! I am not familiar with wiring, so I had someone install it, so I cannot comment on that, but the wires do have to be hard-wired (not plug-in, like a computer). Simple
The thermostat is a simple unit that is easy to install. I use it in a warehouse for a heating zone in the winter only, so I have no use for programing or air conditioning use (it will run a cooling unit if you need it to). The batteries seem to last for quite a long time.

Temperature changes on its own….
For some reason, sometimes the temperature on the thermostat will go up by itself, no one touches it. I set it for 75 and a few hours later, it’s on 90! Not sure how this happens……
