It is fun design and great quality boards, however, not for younger kids. Got it for my 5 year old son (45lbs). It turned out he was not heavy enough. Every time he was trying to ride it, his hover board started to vibrate and almost throwing him of the board. The reason was that the sensors were not getting enough weight to make sure that there is a rider. My 6 years old had the same problem, but not that often. My weight is 112 and it worked just fine. The last hoverboard we bought for our kid didn't last too long and was a big disappointment. This hoverboard on the other hand, not only is outlasting the old one but is a lot easier to ride. As soon as it arrived, I plugged this in to get it all charged and ready for my kid. Once it was fully charged, I decided to give this a try for myself. I couldn't balance on the other one and never could but this one I'm actually able to not only stand on it but ride it around without feeling as if I am going to fall. As for my kid, as soon as they jumped on it, they were riding around like nothing. What I think is cool about this one compared to the old one are the lights. During the day they'll ride around and while it looks cool, at night it looks a lot better because of the lights. The lights are actually bright enough that you can see it very well at night, even when it's really dark out. The rubber on the foot pads really do help as far as safety goes. I don't feel as though I'm going to slip and either does my kid. The other thing I love about this hoverboard is that when you stop, it's not an abrupt stop but rather it eases into a complete stop. The last one almost had us falling off after every stop. Even with all the play time this hoverboard has gotten over the last month, the decal is still on the hoverboard, the lights still work and this thing is still going strong. My son loves this hoverboard but the only drawback we have and it's with any hoverboard is if you live in an area where it gets extremely hot then no matter what the hoverboard will get too hot and shut off within 15 minutes of riding it. Here is San Angelo TX when the temps get over 100 degrees for several weeks in a row my son will only get about 10 to 15 minutes of riding when it will start beeping then shut down. This is about the 5th hoverboard and different brands that do the same thing. It's a flat surface and wether it's asphalt or concrete it will still do it. The only other thing I know to do is to try it out again when it is cooler to see if it makes a difference. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Hoverboard is extremely fun to ride. I bought this set for myself to use but my son loves it so much, I’ve gave it to him and got myself another set. This one is heavier and I think it’s really good for beginner because it’s easier to keep it balanced. The board has cool spider webs with LED lights on it and it’s resembled the flying one in Spider Man movie. This was the reason why my son loves it so much. He loves Spider Man. One thing to keep in mind is do not ride it on top of wood floor. It will leave permanent marks on it. Either ride it on cement, tile floor, or outdoor.
