My 20-gallon compressor was showing some age, and rather than get another one that size, I thought about what I use a compressor for, which was adding a little air to my tires, and blowing out DustBuster filters with a blowgun. It does both these tasks pretty well. It's light enough to carry and surprisingly quiet compared to my old one that's uncomfortably loud. One surprise was that I couldn't use my existing 3/8" air hose. I had to get 1/4" fittings. It doesn't have the oomph for anything big and wouldn't fill my emergency spare from 40 to 60 psi without kicking back on. I found a hex-head screw dangling from one of the slots in the bottom and removed it by taking off the plastic cover. I checked to see where it might have gone, but it appears all the screws are in place. All in all, it does what I wanted it to, so I'm a happy camper. ... show more

    • Easy to assemble, VERY quiet, US manufacturer
This replaces Craftsman compressor that was painfully noisy. I measured the sound with my phone and got 80 db standing right next to it. Ambient noise was 45 db so this guy is very quiet. My old compressor was horizontal so the vertical tank takes much less space. I prefer the 10 gallon tank because it builds pressure rapidly. The 20 gallon would take twice as long. If I ever need a larger tank, I can add my old one. I picked this because of two reasons. 1. specs are excellent 2. I'm buy from the manufacturer in the US. I have a chance of getting parts if I have trouble. Most other compressors in this price range are private label and parts seem to be a problem. I'll run it a bunch over the next week and update if I have trouble. Update: I used it with an impact wrench and all is good. BTW: the motor & possibly the compressor pump is made in China. I'm still glad I didn't buy from a box store. Look up emac & you'll see they are major players in compressors. Update: It's now May 28, 2023 and I still love it. One thing is that it is a 10 gallon not 20 as the title says. The model number has 10 toward the end. The 20 gallon has 20. ... show more

I am very impressed at how quiet this compressor is. Make sure you (carefully) install the air intake muffler, it makes it 4x quieter! This has been great for inflating car tires and seating tubeless bike tires. It does not have vast pressure reserves, but that is okay since it recharges SO QUIETLY!     • Best quiet compressor of its size and excellent customer service....
I work for an OEM and I do research and development for a living... meaning its my job to do a lot of research, test and evaluation of components used in our own companies equipment designs. I apply the same process for personal components purchases....I'm a bit obsessed with researching stuff. That is what lead me to the Emax Hulk air compressor. Based on price, preformance (cfm @90 psi), dBa levels, expected life cycle and warranty I could not find a better unit for the money. I compared units from California Air, Menards (MasterCraft), Campbell Hausfeld, Harbor Frieght (Fortress) and many others. My compressor arrived as expected and only took a few minutes to assemble. I was building a deck and using a palm nailer with this compressor. It is as quiet as advertised....much quieter compared to my old pancake compressor. Unfortunately after about 1/2 hour of usage it quit working. I was shocked as this unit is very well built. I called customer service and after some troubleshooting discussions was asked if they could send another unit out. Sometimes stuff just happens and it quits working and that is when a manufactures integrity is proven. EMAX passed that test with flying colors. ... show more

Item was repackaged. With thin wide Scotch tape. Almost no packing material inside. Compressor leaked air. Full tank would empty itself in less than 20 min. under no strain. Pathetic that a business would send out such a product. And when I really needed a compressor....... To Be Fair; second air compressor I've bought off Amazon. Same Hulk brand. First one worked flawlessly. Need a bigger, stronger one. As for Amazon ---- Instantly refunded Purchase price. ... show more

An outstanding air compressor! I bought this 10 Gallon HULK air compressor along with a couple Pneumatic Plus moisture filters. I also added my own regulator with a filter. This compressor is EXTREMELY QUIET! Barely a slight hum coming from the motors. I modified the twin outlet and replaced the regulator with a filtered one. I can not say enough about the quality and quietness, let alone the price on this HULK COMPRESSOR! It is by far the best AC I have owned and this is my 8th! Extreme amount of consistent pressure, kicks on about every 10-15 minutes to replenish the tank. Not one problem with power consumption, no delay in starting at all! Did I mention that this compressor is EXTREMELY QUIET! AWESOME, QUALITY FILLED AND EXTREMELY QUIET AIR COMPRESSOR! Great job EMAX AIR FORCE TECHNOLOGY ON THIS ONE! ... show more

Second day, will update if needed - works as expected - simple assembly, fairly quiet compared to my old compressor, delivers enough air to do what I need, holds pressure - overall liking it so far. It did arrive with some damage (box was pretty beat up, you could see things had popped out of the slots in the Styrofoam) both wheels have minor damage (will probably work fine as-is), one air filter is completely crushed - have contacted EMAX directly via email on their website, will see how they respond and update.     • Quieter than most
The low noise level is impressive. Decibles (db) are lower as well has frequency (hz). Both factors result in major ear relief Simple wheel and handle assembly is required. Two quick connect outputs on fitting make-up manifold. Pressure regulator and switch are typical Chinese, but sufficient for home use. I have not tested with high cfm tools yet (impact, blaster). I don't know why this Hulk is orange, rather than green, but I like color and paint quality is good. UPDATE: operates my 1/2" impact on automotive lug nuts quite well.
