Impressive compressor . After doing plenty of research which type of manufacturer to go with I decided to buy this partially because the lower RPM. This units keeping up with my bead blasting cabinet without any issues. We are running a pneumatic jackhammer off of this unit today to break up my concrete floor in my garage. It ran it without issues. This unit is quiet and my bead blasting cabinet is right next to it. I can finally blast lengthy period of time and not have a headache. I did have to put in a call to Emax one of the thumb screws that hold the cover on The Whisper 100 air box came loose and fell off during shipping, I also had a question or two about the unit itself. I called but no one answered so I left a message and they called back within an hour and answered all my questions and shipped out a new thumb screw immediately. All in all very pleased Amazon got it to me in a timely fashion without issues. The crate it was boxed in was well-built and protected the compressor extremely well. It did take a while with a screw gun ,pry bar, and Hammer to get it all open but I'm more than okay with that. Unit is extremely heavy and tough to get it off the multi layers of crates it's on by yourself with no equipment but it can be done safely with patience and some ingenuity. It does come shipped with oil ready to run pretty much Plug and Play. It does have a tag on it saying you have to run a minimum of number 8 wire to it do the capacitors on the motor so don't go off the amperage spec you find in the manual or on the website itself. It draws 23 amps at 240, which technically you could get away with number 10 but the tag they put on the tank states if you do not run a number 8 it will void your warranty so be ready to run that size wire. Super pleased , I bought this compressor hoping to never have to purchase another one again and it looks like I made the right decision. The pump itself is AllCast and built to last along with that they run it at a lower RPM to put less stress on it. In my opinion all around well engineered and well built. ... show more

Amazon listed compressor and first oil change, I received compressor and it had an oil leak from the oil sight glass. It appeared sight glass was left loose and I was able to tighten it. John's small engines was the shipper and replied to oil leak issue but denied the claim about sending the specified synthetic pump oil. I don't know if Amazon or John's Small Engines is at fault but it bothered me enough to write a negative review. Compressor was good customer service was lousy. ... show more

I spent about 2 months researching the right air compressor for my home shop and landed on EMAX. The home shop versions of compressors have been so cheapened up over the years that I decided an industrial unit was the only way to go for the work I do at home. I was confident that this was the right long term solution for me in something that should last me decades. I was a big fan of a few features: 1. The rated SCFM numbers are outstanding 2. the larger compressor that runs at a lower RPM (always preferable for long term use and reliability), 3. soft start on the motor and 4. the Whisper silencer setup. As for shipping, I ordered it and the amazon reseller said it would take two weeks to get to me, I thought that was fair. In reality, it showed up in 2 days. Now I was thrilled to have it early. Wiring the unit up was straightforward and plumbing it was as seamless as you would expect. When I turned it on, I was amazed. This is how all compressors should be built. You can almost forget its running and you can have a conversation with someone while its running and not be screaming at each other. In terms of air flow and delivery, its impressive and by leaps and bounds, the best compressor I have ever owned or been around. I could not be happier with the purchase. This is for a new shop I am building, and new compressor runs. I really like how solid this machine is and when it came to me it was on huge thick white oak strips (6X6X8s) and I was able to move it more easily than I thought with a tractor into a tight space. The tank on my 40+ year old Speedaire Compressor with a Champion R15A head failed. It's been a great compressor for me for the past 15 or so years. I researched replacing the tank, buying another used compressor and buying the same or comparable new compressor. After a lot of research I landed on the Emax 350, 5 hp Industrial. Similar specs to my old Speedaire and I found it on Amazon for the best price. I was concerned about delivery since it was shipped freight, but the company (Estes) was fantastic. I got 3 phone calls from them keeping me up to date on the delivery and the 2 gentlemen in the truck were excellent also. I received the compressor on Tuesday and got it installed on Saturday, so not a lot of use right now. What I will say is that it is as quiet as I've read, it gets to it's max pressure pretty quickly and I tested my (copper) shop airlines and the tank and they are both sound. Looking forward to using for some paintwork in the near future, but I'm confident that this will be the last compressor I'll have to buy. The media could not be loaded. It was time to upgrade my 60 year old 3hp shop air compressor so I researched almost every available brand and unit available looking for a good 5hp compressor. I could not find a better unit than the EMAX E350 at anywhere near the price point that had full pressure bearing lubrication and an automotive type spin on oil filter. The pump is a heavy duty Eaton unit and the motor is a commercial continuous duty version. The compressor was supposed to arrive in 3-4 days but arrived within 24 hours! The packaging was perfect and easily removed and the compressor was securely bolted to a very substantial pallet. Installation and setup was easy and the unit runs smooth and quiet and maintains 40-45psi oil pressure. I couldn't be more pleased...highly recommended! ... show more
