I've had these several months now and they are in the guest bedroom where my nieces stay when they visit. They require recharging about once per week (unless you leave them plugged in). At first I was having trouble turning them on and off. There is a brief delay between when you touch the on/off button and anything happens. It is when you release the touch that the lamp turns on or off. When the lamp is off, there is a dim (not unpleasant) night light effect at the on/off switch. The versatility of this light was exactly what I wanted. Working from home, I needed a light I could move around so I have one mount behind my desk and one behind my headboard. This has been the perfect reading lamp, it’s easy to move between cradles, and the different temperatures and brightness settings has helped reduce eye fatigue when I’m working on my laptop all day. My only complaint is that it stopped working yesterday, just shy of 11mo after purchase. I’ve seen several other reviews stating the same issue. I’m unsure if the light is no longer holding a charge, or if some of the wiring came loose or what exactly the issue is, but I’m outside of the return window and will not be ordering another. ... show more

    • Beware of lock feature that prevents powering on
One of the pair stopped working after a month. Light does not turn on and the unit does not even charge when plugged in. Other than the one defective light. This served the purpose of a bedside reading light. I had installed the pair on each side on the bed. Update 9/5/2024: After several attempts I was able to turn on the LED light. It turns out that if you hold the power button for >5secs the lockout is enabled, preventing from powering on. Holding the power button >5secs again will disable the lockout. THIS IS NOT STATED IN THE MANUAL. Changed rating to 4-stars .. -1 for lack of mention in the manual. ... show more

    • Good reading light - stopped working after two months

Update 10/31/23: One of the lights no longer turns on when fully charged. Kind of disappointing that I put holes in the wall for this. Speaking of which, these come with tiny screws and no anchors, so if you want then to stay attached to the wall, you'll need to provide your own hardware. I wanted reading lights for my boys' bunk beds that didn't require an outlet, and I wanted them to have a timer so they would shut off on their own when used at bedtime. These are simple and provide good light, and they also come with additional bases for charging, which I appreciate since I don't want cords wrapped around their beds. The only thing I would warn other buyers about is that, like many other things I've purchased on Amazon, the adhesive is garbage. We should have just started out by screwing them into the wall instead of waiting for them to fall off and then doing it anyway. ... show more

Put the first light on the charger and it turned on without problem. Put the second light on the charger and it would not turn on. Came to read reviews to see if maybe there was an answer and yes there was. Another person wrote about lock out setting. The instruction manual doesn't mention this but, if you hold the power button for 5 seconds the light will not work. If you hold it for another 5 seconds the will resume working. Glad that someone had written about that. Saved me a big hassle of returning both lights. ... show more
