It features a 4-quart heavy duty aluminum canister and a powerful 90-rpm motor, so making ice cream is fast, convenient and fun for the whole family! It’s great for entertaining at family parties, BBQ’s and picnics using all of your favorite ice cream, sorbet, gelato and even frozen yogurt recipes. The motor turns a six-fin paddle that whips air into the ingredients producing a smooth, rich soft serve ice cream. The paddle quickly crushes cookies, fruit, chocolate chips or a variety of other yummy toppings and thoroughly integrates them into the mixture. The old- fashioned Appalachian walnut wood bucket holds ice and rock salt, keeping the canister at the optimal 10°F temperature. All parts conveniently remove for easy cleaning.

Ice cream maker good recipes useless

One batch of ice cream made with the electric motor. We added diced cherries once the ice cream was firm and wouldn't immediately sink to the bottom. They mixed in fairly well. There was a narrow center core that stayed white and the cherries didn't mix into. The recipe booklet is useless. The recipes call for 9 to 12 egg yokes. At just under $7 for a quart of whipping cream and almost $5 for a dozen eggs the recipes do not make homemade ice cream cost effective. We used our old family recipe and it worked. Next trip to a place with no power we will give the hand crank a try.

Not Elite, Not Gourmet — Just a Waste of Money!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

I purchased the Elite Gourmet brand ice cream maker in August of 2022 and have only used it five times, four if count using the motor. After the second use, the nameplate fell off, and the metal around the bucket was already coming loose. That should have been a warning sign, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt since that was mostly cosmetic. By the fifth use, the motor stopped working. The power light came on, but the motor would not run. I had to churn the ice cream by hand, and then the handle broke off while doing that! I only make ice cream once or twice a summer, so this unit was barely used. My previous machine lasted 18 years — this one failed after just a few light uses across three summers. Also, It arrived in a plain brown box with no instructions. I knew how to use it, but the lack of basic documentation felt careless and cheap. I now see many reviews mentioning motor failure, and I can confirm: THEY ARE VALID!!! In summary, there is NOTHING “Elite” about this product! It is overpriced, poorly built, and completely unreliable. I regret not returning it sooner. Actually, I regret giving my money for this product. Save your money. Buy something else.
