    • A very convenient add-on
I bought this add-on for my Stream Deck Plus as I am already deep in the Elgato ecosystem (Stream Deck mk1, mk2, Pedal, WaveXLR, Key Light) and I wanted an easy way to get footage off my camera and go pro SD cards. It was very easy to install and (despite my concerns) I didn't have any issues powering it (will check on my setup will I get home and edit this review if I notice anything). For the original function I was intending, it is perfect! The reader is fast and means I don't have to find a stupid usb adapter to get my SD cards read after a shoot, and the extra USB ports on the back cleaned up my desk a bit. Definitely worth it if you don't need the XLR input on the other variant! ... show more

Great addition for anyone who already has a Stream Deck + allowing you to charge a phone or keep a couple of keyboard/mouse receivers close by on your desk. I actually have an iPad permanently plugged into this which I use to watch YouTube mounted under monitor. I would not want to plug in a Laptop into this to charge because of high power draw and even with an iPad this item gets warm, but anything smaller than a laptop should be fine. ... show more

    • Good USB hub that fits well, it can come loose, it is a bit high price
Fits well, but not perfectly. The hub can separate from the stream deck if you pick it up in a certain way, causing all of your USB devices to disconnect. Otherwise, pretty good. A bit high price for a USB hub.

As a Mac book user this thing has made my life easier as someone new to content creation. It fits perfectly with my other elgato devices and one cable from it to my laptop while having many ports for the other devices saves space for other things. It’s a good amount of money for something so simple yet needed. It’s worth it for the speed it produces in making things and connecting things. Power consumption is nothing to worry about. Installed easily and works great. Really nice way to hide a hub. Make sure to use the power input though or you’ll get weird behavior with USB devices.

    • Useful, but died within a month.
Worked well, was handy to have a built in SD card reader and extra ports available on my desk. Simple to set up as well, plug it in to a decent power brick and you're good to go. After a month, my streamdeck started getting quite laggy after making no configuration changes. A few days after that, the whole device stopped getting recognized by Windows. Poor quality of support means it's now an expensive unusable brick on my desk. Worked great for the first month, though! ... show more
