The media could not be loaded. I purchased the ZLX-15P-G2 primarily to gain more low-end presence for home listening, with the goal of delaying (or possibly avoiding) the need for a subwoofer. My previous casual listening speaker was the Alto TS408, so that serves as my main comparison point. - Low End & Sound - Even though both speakers are rated at 1000 watts output, the larger 15-inch driver in the ZLX-15P-G2 does produce noticeably more low-frequency extension and authority compared to the 8-inch TS408. While wattage ratings are similar on paper, driver size and cabinet tuning clearly make a difference in perceived fullness. For home music playback, the added low-end weight is exactly what I was looking for. - Build Quality - The cabinet is polypropylene (per the spec sheet), but it feels dense and well-constructed. The weight is reasonable for a 15-inch powered speaker, and it feels more substantial than entry-level models. Nothing about it feels flimsy. - Bluetooth Performance - Bluetooth has been somewhat hit-or-miss. There have been occasional disconnects. However, I live in an apartment environment surrounded by heavy wireless traffic (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth devices, nearby power lines, etc.), so interference could very well be the cause rather than the speaker itself. The companion app, on the other hand, has been a strong point. It maintains connection reliably and stays linked even when switching away from the app on my phone — something I’ve had issues with on previous speakers. - Power & Output - While rated at 1000 watts (like my TS408), the ZLX feels more controlled and refined at higher volumes. It doesn’t feel like it’s straining during normal listening. In a home setting, it has more than enough output headroom. - Value - At the time of purchase, the ZLX-15P-G2 was $799 USD. This is the first PA speaker I’ve purchased in this price range. My TS408 was under $300, so it’s not a direct budget comparison. Because of that price jump, value is harder for me to judge. However, the build quality, DSP control, and sound refinement do feel like a step above entry-level options. - Overall Impression - The ZLX-15P-G2 delivers the additional low-end presence I was looking for without immediately requiring a subwoofer. It feels like a more refined and better-controlled system compared to lower-priced PA speakers. Bluetooth consistency could be improved, but the app integration and overall sound quality make it a solid performer. ... show more

    • Rugged and Sounds Great
I own a small venue and this was just what I was looking for. It works for sound reinforcement, as a stage monitor, and I listen to music on it all of the time. Construction is rugged and with a little tweaking of the eq on the back control panel it sounds great. Not sure at this point I need a sub-woofer because of how powerful the bass is with a 15 inch speaker. I plan to buy another. ... show more

    • Not as loud as the ZLX with no Bluetooth.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Very good speaker, however, the same model with no Bluetooth sounds louder and better in my opinion. I’ve also tested it with wires directly to both inputs and still is not as loud as the EV Speaker that comes without the integrated Bluetooth.
