This yarn baller works great! It's super easy to use and takes just a few minutes to turn a skein of yarn into a convenient ball. I was lucky enough to purchase a used one that was claimed to be "like new" for half price. It turned out to be good as new, and I only wish I had bought one years ago!

Once you figure out how to set up and string this winder, it works well. It's easy to use and works quickly to give you a convenient ball of yarn that deters tangles. It's not noisy at all and is easy to wind. It's made mostly of plastic which doesn't seem very durable, so I don't know how it will last, especially since it relies on tension to hold it on the table and it has moving parts. It comes with a few plastic stitch markers and two crochet hooks, which are nice extras. I think it's an average value for the quality.

While using this winder, my wife is regularly plagued with problems. She has been winding yarn for many years with other yarn winders and this one was nothing but trouble. The problems included: the yarn winding unevenly, the yarn winding up all in one row at the top of the ball, the yarn flying off the winder and bouncing across the room (that one was a real shocker and the first time in over 15 years either of us has seen or even heard of such a thing), and the ball being very lopsided. In comparing this winder to some others we own, the only thing we can see that is different is that the angle of the spindle is a few degrees off what every other winder we have (3 different brands). This is really peculiar and I have to say that my wife and I will not use this winder again (except maybe to experiment to figure it out?).
